Ugh. I’m so tired of ToyHax doing these expensive, multi-sheet sticker sets when it really only makes sense to use about 20% of the stickers available.
If you don't want toyhax there's also this set floating around on ebay. Gives him the grey chest, though not sure how durable it is
Damn the whole set looks nice, but $35? I don't know, I really only want the ones for the chest windows. Plus, even if Reprolabels are great, I feel weird paying that much for stickers
Meanwhile, I have no interest in the chest stickers but would love the cab pinstripes and trailer decals.
Huge whiff on this set for me. Maybe a handful of those labels genuinely enhance the toy (chest windows look good, most of the vehicle mode stickers look great, some of the more subtle robot mode details), but the vast majority are superfluous at best (why does the trailer need to have chrome patches over silver paint) and distractingly bad at worst (that faceplate sticker is quite something). Also, why in the world would they not try to color match the thigh sticker to the plastic color and instead have an awkward block of a much lighter gray? That's a sticker detail that should work very well, but instead looks, in my opinion, quite bad. With so many unnecessary stickers for the hefty price of $35, it feels very much like ToyHax is intentionally loading their sets with as many stickers as possible in order to reach (or, perhaps, to justify) a particular price tag, without much care for whether or not the final product actually looks any good. I don't think they're all like this (the Jhiaxus one is excellent), but I've definitely noticed this trend in their more recent offerings.
$60 for the entire upper body in the wrong color but with clear windows, or $95 for the entire upper body in the wrong color and the clear windows papered over with stickers. What the hell. Did they read even one of the many, many complaints?
Kind of annoyed that this set is skipping the early purchase discount. Are they not doing that anymore? Cosmos has a 10% discount right now, so I'm not sure what is going on there.
I’m sure they’re counting on it being a top seller, and so aren’t offering their usual early bird discount.
They usually don't do that aside from the titan add ons. Most are just done in 1 go(motormaster being a current exception)
While I'm sure they did, knowing the Laser Prime mold, I don't think you can just sticker the parts folks have problems with Feel free to prove me wrong, but from memory there's too much molded detail there, so stickers won't really do the job
At $35 (plus shipping) for some stickers you might as well just buy a second scourge and try painting it.
Anxiously awaiting mine! Via cashed in robot cents and a 30% off voucher (courtesy of their awesome CS group to apologize for some messed up sheets… ones they replaced x2 free of charge at that!!!), I got this set for a little over $15!
