I'll sell him mine, might take a few weeks for showzstore to get Marvel shockwave in stock and for it to arrive here. I'll let you know, was never a fan of shockwave holding himself so I don't mind parting with it.

something as small as the gun could easily be mailed out in an envelope or bubbler taped to a sheet of paper. postal mail is usually about 3 bucks give or take a buck.

if the ocean is a bridge too far at the very least we are making progress.

 

I was going to ship a package with a couple tiny parts to the Netherlands, about 5x7, less than an inch thick, weighting .90oz. The quote from the P.O. was nearly $18.   Needless to say that package was not shipped.

 

I'll dm you at some stage when it arrives. We'll work it out.

The mismatched purple bits are an eye sore!

Why can't NA paint them the same color this time round?

 

I'm more intrigued by this picture he posted since he seems to have an in with Newage. If it's a sign of things to come, I would be all in for a comic Soundwave with accurate head.

 

Those are from nylon. Newage rarely paint nylon plastic, epecially at moving joints/hinges.

Comic's silver isn't as blue as in the promo pics. Now I'd like to see an EX with its gray parts swapped with the comic's silver parts.

 

I was hoping they would homage that cover on the box. (Sure, it's the obvious choice, but they coulda overthought it.)

Although that said: I hope we haven't seen the last of the "comic cover that never was" boxes that we got for Straxus and Megatron.

(At least... I think those were original / non-derivative illustrations? It's possible they were aping UK covers I'm not familiar with or something, but I can't think off the top of my head what stories would make sense for Staxus v. Prime or Megatron v. Megatron. And if they were going for an iconic Straxus cover, it would definitely have been US #18, right?)

 

So maybe this is my colorblindness kicking in, but is this really the lightest colored shockwave of the bunch? I know they supposedly used some new paint on him, but I'm honestly disappointed as shockwave was almost always colored pretty dark in the comics (would have loved a reproduction of his black-purple or deep magenta colorations).

Guess I'll still keep the comics release on my wait and see list since I was already having issues with the massive size difference from a comics perspective with him and grimlock.

 

Yeah, that's surprising / disappointing to me too. I'd made peace with the blue on the chest being way too blue, because while it's not accurate, it is at least very cool looking. But the purple being so bright, even as the box homages the cover I always think of when I think about my preference for dark-purple Shockwaves, is definitely a bummer.

But I'm still gonna get him because I don't have the mold and everybody says it's great, and it's the only one with actual silver parts (I dunno why they decided the comic decos got to be metallic, but I love that they did, because I infinitely prefer it).

 

It looks like NA reused parts from the standard figure. The color is also slightly off there, but it isn't as glaring.

NA managed to use correctly colored parts for EX and M, so by right they should be able to do it for C?

 

I have zero interest in SW, but man, that purple and turquoise combo look so good and delightfully 80's.

Comiclops showed up today. A unique coat of paint on this guy to say the least. With paint fleck is usually silver, this has metallic blue fleck. I wasn’t able to truly capture it with my camera phone, but the fleck is very apparent in hand. All of the painted silver has the same blue hue that was present in all the previous NA comic repaints. The fist and saluting hands are painted in purple without the blue fleck.

All the joints and tolerances are solid and reliable. Another unique repaint from NA that isn’t for everyone, but the ones who want it will probably love it (Im in the love camp ).
