I think the designs are a nice combination of G1 + Nick Roche\'s IDW style. Although, I do get the discomfort people have about Optimus.

Animated did a quite similar thing with Optimus\' design, but since this series is CGI, it\'s more uncanny to people.

 

When asked about potential Voyagers and Leaders for Earthspark they said nothing is impossible. If those happen I hope they are better on the looks compared to those deluxes

 

Eh, I don't think the Deluxes look too bad, although how many I get will be heavily influenced by just how much they cost and what sort of sales/specials they get.

 

How come we haven\'t seen Starscream yet?   


 

 

Well, guess I'll be checking it out after all since my boy Swindle is in it looking neat. Neat designs for Soundwave and Megatron too, somewhere between Prime and Animated. However, I can't be the only one that laughed at them specifying that Bumblebee is the "YELLOW sports car" when there were no other sports car descriptions in that clip, right? Really, you don't say!?

 

God, it really gives me TF Prime vibes. Optimus and Wheeljack especially. Glad they didn't just transplant evergreen designs with crappy proportions ( yes, I'm looking at you, Cyberverse). It's also good to see Hasbro revisiting once more-or-less popular G1 characters like Swindle, Insecticons and Skullcruncher.
And that Soundwave looks like he was retooled from BM Jetstorm and given a new altmode
(I meant, more or less popular among children)

 

Most of them have at least a mediocre design, save for soundwave, elita 1 , and arcee, which each have good robot modes and incredible alt modes

 

NGL, I didn't recognise Soundwave til I read a comment! Ok yes technically it still work cos he is a "stealth" bomber but still, I view him more as a spy type than like a stealth rogue type as in he sneak in, drop his payloud and then outta there!

Also I liked Arcee is a muscule car. Ok it's not the same thing but I always view her og Cybertronian car to be a reference to those olde car with an open roof! You know which one

 

I really dig that new Arcee design! It's neat to see Skullcruncher get some attention too!

 

While some of the tried and trues are literally just that (Prime, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Swindle), the Thrash design is very reminiscent of Animated Prowl with the Samurai armor.

Skullcruncher is such a great robot design on this iteration.

I love the call back to Cybertron Soundwave's stealth jet mode. Same for Megatron's VTOL twin rotor Animated altmode. Both just look beefier and more in line with their bot modes.

Elita's design looks very much like Robots In Disguise Strongarm, but that's already a thing with Legacy.

But my favorite redesign is Arcee's pink Cadillac form. It's one that I've hoped someone would do for a while. And while translating that into a streamline bot mode doesn't make a lot of sense from a toy engineered view, it's still a great alt mode for her.

 

Really love Soundwave’s design. Hopefully a good figure comes out in the toy line.

 

Fall of cybertron not being connected make sense, but prime and rescue bot don’t really, unless your also saying rid15 isn’t connected to prime

 

Oooh, Arcee's alt-mode being a 50's Cadillac is pretty unique. I like what they've done with Soundwave as well.

 

So…

 

Yet another uninspired G1 ripoff with ugly designs that will provide 3 years of cheap looking mainline figures and that will be completely forgotten soon after? - Well, as long as this strategy pays off for Hasbro, who can blame them for repeating what they've been doing for the past 20 years?

 

Maybe he's not in it yet. Like how the rest of the Dinobots didn't show up in Cyberverse until later.

Sounds like someone hasn’t played with any of the Cyberverse Deluxes. They had just as much articulation as any maline figure, with nicely durable plastic, and no bulk save what’s called for by the designs… for the most part. They weren’t all perfect…
