I mean, Japan got a CHUG Slipstream. It just wasn't WFC/SS scaled.

 

Considering that the Takara Legends Slipstream was based on the Animated incarnation, it kind of is since that version was smaller than the male seekers (coming up to about their shoulders in height). Granted, she should be a bit taller, but relatively speaking it works ok.

 

Hm. I honestly just wish they would retool that one since SS86 Arcee establishes they can do retools of older figures. Eliminate the VTOL wings, tighten the joints, add articulation, I'd be good with that.

 

she's only like, a quarter of a head shorter in Animated, the Legends figure is way way too short

However, I like the Elita retool idea. It makes a ton of sense, though honestly I'd prefer she got her own mold. I get the feeling that Velocity is coming from what one of the designers was wanting, but we could use more fembot molds. Arcee, Elita, Windblade, Nautica, Velocity, Strongarm, and Shadowstriker would be a diverse group allowing for lots of retools. (Speaking of, someone did a custom Velocity from Legacy Arcee that looks great enough that I chucked the figure I was gonna use and I've started working on emulating it!)

 

There's room for her to use *both.* In that she could come as both a repaint of a theoretical Side Burn, or in something closer to her Cyberverse appearance that is, in turn, repainted in to Side Burn. It'd be a similar situation to Barricade, who adopted the Datsun mold in order to give HasTak flexibility with any future police-car based Prowl mold.

 

Ooh, I like this idea because a new Headmaster Arcee with Chromedome's alt mode would probably be a great base for a hybrid G1/IDW CHUG Chromedome too, with a G1y car mode but a much slimmer robot mode (since I like IDW Chromedome but not his vehicle mode).

I could definitely see Energon Hot Shot and Nightbeat sharing a mold well. The robot modes have enough similarities that they could both probably be pretty accurate with a few small engineering changes between the two versions.

Remove the wings and move the bulk from his lower legs to his arms and I think it could work.

That'd be fine for a new Windblade (if and only if they can somehow make her able to balance reliably, which I wouldn't bet on), although I'd ideally prefer her to be a little bigger (large Deluxe/small Voyager), but Slipstream needs to at least be close to the size of the other Seekers (if not the same size) and to not have a very fake cockpit on her chest.

It is so very fake.

Aside from the fact that mainline figures get revealed by Hasbro first, the Velocitron figures are TT Mall exclusives in Japan, so a solicitation like this wouldn’t be sent out to retailers by TakaraTomy.

On top of that:
-The faker misinterpreted the date plastered across the figure. On official TT solicitations this indicates the date the image ban is lifted. It is always a specific date (month/date, not year/month as we see here).
-They forgot to add the “解禁” and “転載禁止” after the date.
-They wrote the name Hot Rodimus instead of Hot Rod. TakaraTomy no longer uses the Japanese names for mainline releases.
-The figure is a photoshop of an existing promotional image of the original release.

The mold only has 2 uses at the moment. A third can still happen.

 

Don't force the design the character debuted in? Yeah, that makes total sense, ignore her original design.  

I'm happy with the ones I made for myself.

 

Within the WFC/Legacy scale (which is more relative than strictly adhering to on screen scale) the Legends one scales no worse than some other figures (Kingdom Rattrap or Terrorsaur for example).

 

So far my SG Starscream is hanging in there with his white, along with Siege Jetfire.
I live in a pretty dry climate so I think that helps.
And yeah, Gigawatt is waaaay cool. I added some gun metal Grey to parts of him, as well as blue highlights, but even without that he’s a fun figure. I’d open him and just enjoy!

Sucks their doing g2 menasor as individual releases and not a box set. With the price hikes and the pain in the butt it is to get velocitron stuff, its just not worth it.

 

it's the first release, so we don't know if they're going to all be exclusive, and b) i doubt this one will be hard to find.
