so i caved and bought this mold again...anyone have lead on thigh extension (not shin like dna) kit for this guy? also the spoiler pack magnus collar surround swap shown in this thread is pretty nice. almost considering getting one just to do that.

Well, hello Convoy  

 

Well I did it. I made another poor financial decision. And I don't think i regret it so far. It just looks so nice in black and blue! And I'm one of the few who enjoy the vehicle mode, compromises and all. Skeletal car carriers just look cooler to me. So yeah, Delta/SG Magnus, here he comes.

 

I've said it elsewhere but this is my favorite version of the mold. I don't really use the skull head, cool as it is, because I'm going for the delta magnus look, mentor to ultra magnus. I see him as a leader of sorts during the early days of the war who sat on the autobot High council with alpha trion, sentinel and Emirate xarron.

It's just a nice figure.

 

Indeed. It reminds me SO MUCH of the Diaclone/GiG Powered Convoy I used to watch (and desperately desire) behind the window of the toy shop when I was a kid.

Man, what a blast of nostalgia coming with this figure.

 

I may have purchased the last one, but give it a few days/weeks and I'm sure he'll relist it.

Got mine in today so I can comment for those interested in storing the red matrix inside SG Magnus.

IT WORKS FINE.

I had to sand down the peg a bit, as it was slightly larger than 5mm and NEITHER version of the matrix fit, but now both work perfectly.

I also added a thin layer of super glue to the ports that attach it inside the chest. It slides in fine and will stay in place in mangus mode, but in Optimus mode it could slide off if you give it a thump. Now to give it a good long time to dry before popping it back in,, so it doesn't become permanently attached...

 

Light piping is awesome but I think I'm a bigger fan of the gold mustard eyes. So I took care of that myself.



Edit: oops it seems a bit bled over onto his nose. I'll take care of that too.

 

Wow, a fair bit of ink makes the details in the red and blue really pop! If only I wasn't so shit at ink work. Lol

That's how I have mine displayed. I tossed the blue/black cab to the side. I've always preferred an Optimus Prime colored cab with the Powered Convoy trailer.

 

Feels like a stupid question, but does the Sword not want to sit very well in the Axe? It just seems to want to twist diagonally when put into it.
