Ye i kinda thought the same thing. im thinking about wanting one cause its a good toy, not really a good transformer. i wish my mans could, at the absolute minimum, put his arms down lol.

Maybe im in the minority but the price doesnt seem too out of wack to me. its a great time to get a vintage toy, without all the hassle of sloppy 20+yo joints, missing accessories, and hell some of them are releasing in more show accurate colors. i love my reissue bw megatron, and i dont even feel bad spending the $70 cad on it, cause the alternative is a really tedious hunt for a probably slightly perished figure, nowhere near as cheap as $70 by the time all is said and done. The best wars toys were really good chunky toys. im happy to get a sample im not scared to play with, ill pay a lil extra for that.


on another topic, really wonder what the hell will happen if they decide to do reissue transmetals...

-isnt vac metal like, the absolute fucking worst for the environment with how its executed? i know hasbro pulled the NFT card earlier this and last year but like, i wonder how they'd handle chrome. you cant have transmetals and no chrome

-ive been listening to the Toy Aramada podcast with Aaron Archer (awesome fucking listen if youre big into Armada) and they mentiond how those late wave Transmetal additions to Armada required them to edit the steel molds. i wonder if we get transmetal reissues if they'll just... have minicon ports still. or if theyd put the work in to re-weld those parts of the mold. Also will Airrazor have the inexplicable decepticon symbol on her back that was added in the armada release (and no one seems to remember why)

 

It still would be pretty neat to get an updated chug version that can do just that lol

 

My reissue Wolfang's joints were decent, only slightly loose. Reissue Retrax, on the other hand, had the tightest joints I've seen on a Transformer in years. Mine's legs are tighter than any of my WFC or Legacy toys, very solid joints. Almost thought I was gonna break it the first time I transformed it. Like you said, trying to match that with a vintage 20+ year old toy, it wouldn't even be able to stand up under its own weight with how loose the joints would be.

 

In my Walmarts, all the retraxs were gone. Cybershark and terrorsaur were shelfwarming and I've never saw a wolfang.
edit: I'm not joking for a meme.

Retrax was such an odd choice, I would have done Dinobot, Rhinox or either of the spiders. Why reissue one of the worst BW figures ever*?

*I know people like him "ironically" and for the Memes. But a bad transformer is a bad transformer)

 

I almost guarantee it's a simple matter of what moulds they have still ready to use. Cheetor/Tigatron and Rattrap had to be remade, and they probably picked K9 and Retrax because they didn't require any repair or reconstruction.

 

I happen to like Retrax unironically. I think he is a lot of fun. I own the Powerhug deco, but I prefer Retrax's colors. Despite the limited articulation due to his awesome gimmick, he can actually pull off some great poses in robot mode. I, for one, cannot wait to get this guy and unironically embrace my inner child.

Do you see it? My goofy little guy is MISSING A PAIR OF LEGS! THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN IN ANY REALITY! HASBRO HAS OFFICIALLY GONE DOWN THE HOLE! MY SILLY LITTLE DUDE HASN'T GOTTEN A TOY SINCE THE 90s, AND THIS IS HOW IT'S HANDLED! UNACCEPTABLE!

Mine came this week too and it's also missing the middle set of legs, the original leaked samples also have this issue, so wondering if it's a production or mold issue?

Noctorro has the hands thing and weird wing gimmick but Injector is a national treasure with Nicholas Cage.

It took me almost 20 years to appreciate Injector. I thought it was the stupidest thing when I saw it in stores. Retrax is still awful though. At least Injector has a wacky charm to him.

 

Injector also has no technical faults. He's still quite posable and has a pretty decent transformation on top of quite good colours and paint work. He can still do a lot in both modes.
