No, but she wasn't this tiny either. Between G1, Netflix, and now Earthspark, it's pretty clear that she's SUPPOSED to be as tall as his pecs (Siege Ironhide size), and I have no clue where this idea that she's this short is even coming from.

This is a good figure, but in light of Override's existence, she doesn't deserve to be this small.

Although, this has nothing to do with the partscount or complexity issue. Something tells me that Hasbro doesn't want to give her a bigger figure for mainline, and the cynical side of me is that they may be giving Elita more love lately, but it's only just so they can appease fans.

 

I think they're pushing Elita for more than just to appease fans. She's in the new kids show.

 

Well that's pretty cool. It's great they're appeasing the fans. That's pretty optimistic.

Cynical would be more along the lines of "They're just doing it to make a quick buck off Elita" or "They're just doing it so they don't lose the trademark."

 

Now if they could push the other fembots like Glyph, Pathfinder, Spay-C, etc. That'd be awesome too.

 

Hasbro corporate seems to have only realized she only existed sometime around POTP and that was to do a Starscream remold of her followed by the Arcee remold in WfC. It's less "fans" and more they just found another generic female character to fill their quota next to Arcee and Windblade, whose star frankly has waned in recent year.

 

...it's a fictional character in a toyline. What else would they do this for?

I am happy we have received 3 Elitas in the past 4 years but sad they have not gotten 1 close to being accurate yet. I still plan to buy several of these once available… I do really like Elita…. But just wish they would get her right… perhaps they are doing it on purpose so I keep buying them.

Elita has to be a pretool for Moonracer, that’s why the alt mode ended up the way it did.

 

This is going to sound nuts but I think G1 Elita One could be done well as a very heavy Scourge retool. Look at the head placement.

Pink that vibrant would hurt my eyes to look at if I owned it. Not even my Takara Misfire is that bright.

 

I don't want to be that guy but based on that vehicle mode, I think they could retool SS86 Arcee into a more G1-accurate Elita One.

Also, I wish they would try to give that kind of truck mode to Firestar/Novastar since it would allow for fitting Fembot proportions based on the design. The POTP toy was a weird amalgam of both Firestar and Moonracer's designs which suffered a lot because they were also forced to be Combiners so I think they shouldn't count at this point. (Mind you, I also wish they made an IDW Firestar with the beautiful fire hair).

 

So the legacy Elita is the most accurate but still not all the way there. She’d have to go up to
Voyager class to get a better engineering budget

 

Many Floro Dery designs do that. Hell, Blurr's design does that, even though no toy has ever tried to make the entire back half of his car into his head for obvious reasons.
