springer looks more like his squeezepay color, whirl is more golden then carnivac so maybe original colors, we also got sandstorm in unknown colors and potintally jackpot or kickover in sg ricochet, or just sg ricochet, also sg kup look like his sg kups self a bit, which was based on scourge a bit

 

Liking this new version of SG Optimus more and more.
The colours/design are still inferior to the original tho imo, too vibrant and too much blue and green on the new one.

 

Thanks. This is based on what I'm seeing here in the preview and from what I know of the original SG Ultra Magnus storyline so I may be wrong. But still if that ends up being the case it would be without a doubt poetic karma to SG Optimus Prime given how he loves to brag about how much he's on top of things and that he feels that it gives him the right to treat even his loyal subjects like trash.

The grey shoulders were what made me think “Galvatron.” EDIT: Or maybe not, if the shoulders are blue!

Yeah, I guess you’re right. I was reading that as “bluish grey” (the way comics represent blacks and greys as blue sometimes) but on closer inspection and comparing it to the rest of the panel, it’s more blue.

 

Mood

 

Feels pretty A-game, this whole miniseries has been incredibly wordy and text heavy. The big moments hit.

 

Took me a minute to realize the 4th page was a flashback. Intriguing, so Magnus\' face is a hologram and he has the skull face underneath? I assumed he would get that after some traumatic event.
Interesting that in the mirrorverse, seems Magnus got the Wreckers as his - or rather, Prime\'s - Gestapo basically, to weed out and eliminate anyone who is a threat to his rule, but all while pretending to still follow the law.. I guess still being beholden to rules broke Magnus mentally. But he sure as hell feels more certain and direct in present time than in the past.
Also, hey, Shattered Glass Impactor. Odd that he has G2 Megatron - or Constructicon - colors.

That toy was such a weird thing. Made as Sunstreaker, but due to some weird last minute thing (maybe Takara wanted him to be a Lambo?) released as Dead End... but using Wildrider's colors. LOL.

Whirl oddly does not have the original Dorvack Ovelon Gazette's colors. But is is a bit like thet Dorvack Roadbuster mold's colors, maybe?

Youse are forgetting that John-Paul Bove the colourist stated he chose original colour schemes as he saw fit, not homages.

 

Yeah and Last Bot even manages to surprise my low expectations by how stupidly idiotically these guys and girls just squabble over that energy vial when they have just been told they are standing on a planet full of energon. While a guy who just killed 4 of them is standing 2 meters away.
So I guess it'll not be Steeljaw and Sharpclaw vs Rodimus, just Steeljaw vs Rodimus, the others are basically already dead.

SG looks nice, but is that even IDW anymore? As I understand Hasbro means to continue the comic with every SG release, and we have Flamewar and Slicer coming but in 2023, when IDW would be done and gone.

I know that people are talking about how Last Bot Standing is falling short, but I really have been enjoying it! The use of former Autobots, Decepticons, and neutrals as antagonists is creative and enjoyable, and Su\'s artwork slaps as always.
