Love it! Like I said, the song is still in my playlist a decade later just because of this trailer. But I'm an even bigger fan of the E3 trailer. Optimus overwhelmed, then a quick burst from the Matrix and the whole city comes apart only to reform into Metroplex while Everlong screams "Your city liiiiiiiies iiiiiinnn duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust!" and Metroplex dutifully informs Optimus that he heeds his call and blasts the fuck out of some Decepticons.

Honestly I like the trailers even more than the game  

 

FoC is still one of if not my favorite video games of all time. It's a damn shame we haven't gotten a remastered collection that includes WfC... and to a vastly lesser extent RotDS... It's an even bigger crying shame that the game is no longer readily available to purchase especially on modern systems, only 2nd hand physical copies on older systems.

I hope someday we get a remaster or even a reboot of the franchise but that would require Hasbro to be willing to put forth effort on a AAA video game and not cheap mobile game cash grabs... it deeply pains me that it has been a decade since FoC and the only 2 AAA titles since then were a shallow movie tie-in that borrowed assets from FoC and the relatively enjoyable if not short and repetitive Devastation.

 

Still remember when this game was coming out. While I prefer WFC much more, I think FOC is a really good sequel. The best part of the game was definitely the multiplayer, improved over WFC in every way. I wish we could get modern ports of both games.

 

The first major trailer with the Humbling River song by Puscifer is, and imo, always will be one of the most genius and goosebump inducing TF moments ever. For me, what makes FoC so special is that I don't even play video games!!....I stopped playing video games in 1998!!!

What I loved...was the G1 Reverent mythos and most of all, the movies that a few people cut together from the Cinematics; better, more fun, more reverent and far FAR more entertaining than anything TF related that Michael Bay ever put to film. I both loved and was exasperated by Hasbro's figure renditions but awesome memories overall.

Oh...and I'd be remiss if I didn't give props to High Moon's chief, Matt Tieger; the guy literally saved the Dinobots as a TF concept, and his love-infused article on his passion for Grimlock has always stayed with me ("If you don't think a robotic T-Rex is cool, then I don't want to talk to you!") Lol.

 

I was thrilled when I saw the trailer for WFC and immediately scoured a copy of the game, second hand, becuase well, I was late to the party. I would play this game for many hours, and my kids would sit and watch me play it. Now, they're playing the game, and they're much better than me. LOL.

So, is it true, the servers are up and running again? Thankfully, I still have WFC and FoC for my console (PS3).

I agree, the game should be rereleased for the current consoles.

 

The servers are definitely up and running. Though you have to do a tutorial to help you get back online

 

I like to think that the trailers tell a cohesive story (even with some glaring inconsistencies if you try to stitch them together).

The VGA with Humbling River is the first.

As Optimus clutches a badly injured Bumblebee, Megatron launches an assault, and orders the formation of Bruticus. Grimlock arrives, and after sharing a nod with Optimus, transforms into T Rex mode and readies to face off against the giant.

The E3 trailer with the Cities in Dust cover, (which released first, IIRC) is the second part.

It's not enough. Even with the Dinobots and Jazz taking on Bruticus, Megatron's advance continues and puts harsher pressure on the Autobots. Optimus then calls in Metroplex. And as the giant among giants heeds the call of the last Prime, he activates. The Decepticons realize exactly how outmatched they are and retreat as the Titan's shoulder cannons heat up and fire.

 

So is there a way to get WFC and/or FOC onto the later consoles, such as the PS5?

 

Years ago I bought Fall of Cybertron when they released a PS4/Xbox one version, these still show in my digital library, sadly they are delisted but it might be worth checking to see if they ever got released on disc

 

I thought I'd seen the option while I still had my PS3, but since I jumped I've not seen a trace.

Devastation seems available on disc, but I do feel like I've been let down.  

 

If it's in your library you should still be able to install it. I can on my Series X

 

I really wish these games were rereleased on Steam. The multiplayer was unironically really good, I remember playing the first one alot online

 

Still watching trailers for WFC/FOC on a regular basis and replaying campaigns. Deserved a third game and more figures imo. The multiplayer is greatly missed so many great times on this game when it’s had a decent player base.

Hope Hasbros tries to capture the magic of transformers again one day with a new game like this. Reactivate doesn’t look like it’ll be for me or that good based on its development issues.

 

Activision needs to stop being a loser company and rerelease these games and bring back the servers.

 

So the fire brothers channel on YouTube is saying WFC/FOC are 100% coming back on Xbox game pass, anyone seen anything to confirm this? If true I’ll be getting a xbox asap

 

Nothing but clickbait nonsense to get views. Unless Activision/Microsoft sign a new licensing deal with Hasbro, they can’t sell the games in any fashion, including game pass.

I agree. It’s not even on sale online for the ps4 and One remaster cuz the license expired. Hopefully MS will renew the license. I was so disappointed that MS didn’t include WFC/FOC as backwards compatible.

 

With all the rumours I've heard online about the Cybertron games coming out via Microsoft, I thought maybe they might come out on PS4 or 5. I went to my local Gamestop and asked the guys who worked their if they heard of any news about WFC and FoC coming out on Xbox and/or PC. Dude went off talking about all the dynamics on how unlikely it would be for that to happen. He went on about exclusives, on about how another company would do this or buy this other company and so on. I couldn't really keep up with what he was saying as that world is alien to me, and I was on 3 hours of sleep, so I can't repeat what he told me here. But after that very one sided conversation I figured a Playstation version won't happen. I do have the games for PS3 but I was hoping for maybe updated graphics or something. Heck, I'd just buy a few more copies to hopefully push interest in a proper 3rd game of the series.
