You can see some of it on the front thighs, inside of the legs and inner feet. Can't really see any on the body but there still might be some tucked away.

It looks like they didn't have enough time to paint the thighs maybe? Glad they showed it. I wonder if they plan to release it this year.

I just mean it's still going to be a long time for the toon version. That's definitely not a final paint on these pics though.

 

Looks like a completely unpainted sample - possibly a production sample. The last time they showed it there was more than just the metal being different colours do this time, like having blue around the codpiece, blue shoulder covers, blue and red on the sides of the torso, white on the rear of the thighs, and grey on the wheel hubs. Some of that could be plastic colour changes but some of it was definitely paint.

Part of me also hopes they're reconsidering their approach to painting the zamak, especially after Springer's shoulders, but I'm not exactly confident there.

 

That does look good. Hope the engineering and QC are good as well.

There's nothing on Magnus that had tolerances like Springer. The only chipping on the Magnus I have here is on the thighs but that was caused by a non recessed screw (which will be recessed correctly on the final release) there's no virtus issues here

 

That's mostly it, the torso is all plastic. I can double check but I think it's thighs and feet only

 

I saw initially that it was coming out after the Toy version, but I swear I saw on here in some other thread more recently that it is slated for october with the toy version in november. This is supposedly according to a post by XTB on some Chinese site. There was a screen shot...I had to take the guy's word for it.

 

I haven't seen anything on this, but a week or so ago XTB showed boxes for their Inferno/Grapple figures so those should be next.

 

I hope this figure is good but I still don't trust X-Transbots not to screw it up. I'm sick of things like die-cast thighs - they're wholly unnecessary most of the time and I do not see the point.

Anyway, if I buy one, it'll probably be the toy version, and since everyone is throwing their hat in the ring with that one, I had a go smashing a few of the digibashes together:


I think the white waist looks more "full" than just the single white piece, and it helps break up the figure more. Then the blue hip skirts help break it up more without looking like he's wearing a onesie or his whitey-tighties.
And finally, the additional blue on the chest to mimic the toy chest, as someone else suggested.

I wouldn't mind replacing some or all of the white with silver, but that's just me. And no, I couldn't be bothered doing it myself.

 

I hope they step up their game paint wise in this one , springer looks great until you look close or take pictures proper orange peel effect on it , and it’s like it on mine and most pictures by others I have seen

The diecast pieces on the test shot that are painted are painted really well. There is slight orange peel on the thighs but the blue on the inner legs and toe is nice and smooth
