TCP has both versions, but not BBTS. Strange.

Alright, rubber has met road and I have settled on team green wing.

 

This is what I went with too and I felt it a bit of an injustice to have the wrong wing colors when it helps to make the Decepticon bot mode pop more. I don't like Fans Hobby's all matte finishes so therefore it is even more important that the color be there. The purple version to me feels more authentic. On the truck mode that back part is like a detachable part anyway and the green accents help it blend in more and hide the wing contours and feather ends. I think it blends well enough. I like the bold choices they made here to provide a better character representation than the G1 toy and even cartoon. I like the idea of him being heavily conflicted Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde with the two Godmasters.

 

Their matte finish matches pretty well with mt/fp stuff…

 

That’s what I was wondering. Couldn’t find any pics of the truck, just the bird and robot. Too lazy to break out my Masterforce dvd’s. Might check episodes on YouTube later.

Well they're releasing a green and purple winged option at the same time. Though they did say a Clouder version is definitely possible.

 

So what is the purple winged version then? Are the differences regional differenes then?

 

The purple version is just that - a version with purple wings

the g1 toy had purple wings

In this mold, the purple wings fold to be the back of the truck, which means…purple back of the truck. People didnt like that, so they changed it to green. People didnt like that, so they offered both. Now u can have purple wings/purple truck or green wings/green truck

Fans Hobby products aren't the most cartoon accurate so not sure what you're after, and yeah the truck only has a few appearances in the cartoon and even then they are weird angles or just parts of the truck so don't think there are any stills of the full truck flying around. But you should be able to catch some appearances in episode 31 and 32. Just search for Masterforce 32 on Youtube.

 

The back end of his truck mode is shy in Masterpiece.

Looks like the lower legs can be oriented either way in the bot modes. I always expected you could, but good to see it. (wheels on the side for the Decepticon bot mode, on the front for the Autobot one).

 

Buy the purple wing version and wait for someone to make a cape/bonnet to go over the purple wings in truck mode.

 

Even a small green sticker set for truck mode probably solves the problem

Here are those stills. But basically if you want a purple missile truck, which is whack, or blue wings with purple highlights (which are on the wrong side in bird mode so I 'm not sure why they did the highlights anyway), which is not screen accurate, its kinda of unacceptable in my book. The wings are also supposed to look like WINGS not edged seeker jet wings as shown on the figure currently. I would prefer the current "wings" be all teal/green to make the truck not have any purple and have some optional attachable rubber/plastic screen accurate bird wings. I shouldn't have to buy TWO freaking figures for accurate alt modes. The is supposed to be an MP. I think the design got hosed along the way and they didn't see this coming. I'm a massive FansHobby fan, but I'm rethinking this. XTB or the like might give them some competition down the road.

Nice and blocky. But geez, didn’t they receive a ton of requests for a better bird head? The shape and overall sculpt...so incredbily plain.
