If they do anything about it I'd guess it's over a year away.

But see, about your 2nd and 3rd points, I just... In other countries, Hasbro doesn't do this, right? And the US is probably their largest market...

LOL It's like someone else has said, it's very weird that Hasbro doesn't want my money. It just feels like there's no way they're making anything other than a negligible amount of more money doing exclusives in the US vs just selling toys of a very popular character in more stores. It just sounds backwards to my head.

It'd honestly be awesome if Hasbro product planners or whoever is privy to those decisions were interviewed (I'm sure it'll just make fans angrier but I'd love to know the exact science behind choices like this).

They do have exclusives in other countries. Velocitron is exclusive to KMart in Australia, Takara Tomy Mall in Japan, and I believe Smyths in the UK.

But realize, Transformers is not their entire toy line. They do exclusives with TF, Marvel, GI Joe, Power Rangers, and Star Wars since those are their marquee brands. But it is all part of a negotiation to get more shelf space for their other brands like Bey Blade, Play-Doh, Nerf, Baby Alive, Peppa Pig, My Little Pony, Sesame Street, PJ Masks, etc. Those are the toys that need foot traffic to get sold. Adult collectors are a minority part of their business. Parents buying that other stuff with their kids is what makes them the real money.

Look, I'm running on basically no sleep and coffee, so I don't quite understand what you said, but jeez it sure sounds correct.

    Cheers.

I managed to find a clampdown at my local store. Don't suppose any one would want to trade him for Cosmos?

I'm still dreading the horrors of trying to find Minerva.

Right? See, @SGMan , that's something else that's bizarre: the UK is lousy with Cosmos but here there's 3 per store as far as we know.

    Any thoughts as to why?

Smyth’s has been ordering Cosmos in solid cases (8 per). I would assume Walmart has this same option but hasn’t done so but can’t be sure. We do know that Walmart has ordered both assortment cases and solid cases of the voyager Override and Hauler.

This seems counterintuitive to me. If these brands are their bread n butter, why do they need "foot traffic" to sell them? They can't be selling too much if the stores are overflowing with it and don't get people ordering online dedicated to the brand like collectors vs being forced to buy it because their child is pigeonholing them to go down the isle.

On a sidenote, I love those parents that literally walk their kids down the isles and their kid pulls things out to buy but the parent rejects it and says something like i just bought you blah blah.

Like, why are you torturing your f'ing kid teasing them going down each isle repeatedly but then not buying anything? Don't do that. Don't take your kid down the isle just to say 'no nothing'. You do it because you don't want them to whine about going to the toy isle, but then they break down balling anyways because you enticed them and now they're REALLY upset. Just absolute mouthbreathers.

Bread and butter because they move in greater volume and are cheaper/faster to manufacture. the shelves are filled because they are ordered with more frequency. Collectors don’t buy nearly as much as parents/kids do. If you’ve ever looked at Walmart and Target when they stock their pallets, those other brands make up way more of that composition than TF Generations and SS, Marvel Legends, etc. When I was out hunting for Cosmos, there would be 4 pallets with 30-50 boxes of toys. With maybe 3 cases of various Transformers. The pegs are full with unsold Legacy figures with more piled on the top shelf. And even though the other brands cases outnumber TF more than 50 to 1, they are at the same level of overstock anytime I go in. The point is that those toys are not the type that people order online. They’re the kind the kid picks out and the parents buy on the spot. Which is why Hasbro needs that retail space. It’s also why Walmart puts almost no effort into their online sales. They know how the majority of their customers shop.

I’m in GA and I travel a lot throughout the state. I’ve been to many different Walmart stores and have seen at least 10 Clampdown but only spotted 2 Cosmos. Even though both of them are one per case, Cosmos is way more popular and harder to find in the wild.

I understand it's blasphemy, but given the current state of distribution you may be better served hawking it on eBay and using that sale to subsidize a Cosmos purchase. Absolutely rotten, but Hasbro made this mess for us.

Override FINALLY shipping from Pulse. Nearly missed out on her because the payment method was with a debit card I had to lock waiting to get a new card sent.

I had to go buy a sleeping bag today, and I saw a Velocitron Blurr on the shelf, so I went ahead and bought him

It looks WAY better in person, and I think I like it a little more than the SS86 version? The colors remind me of the old G1 toy, and I like he headsculpt a lot better, so he might just be my main Blurr right now (and he'll fit in right next to Wreck N Rule Springer and Titans Return Kup)

Isn't Minerva (And the other Walgreens stuff) stocked in solid cases? The only problem I can see with finding her is if global shipping is still messed up
Please forgive my ignorance if this is a terrible question
Ah yes, I was tempted to almost buy Road Hauler, and had the idea of buying Legacy Skids and Dragstrip while I was searching for Cosmos, I mean I didn't buy them but I see your point

I have no idea. I've just had luck with Walgreens around here for the past 3 years. Maybe that's everyone. Maybe it'll be different with things "getting back to normal". I don't trust them. They had a lot of McFarlane and Jazzwares exclusives and never saw them in stock locally, and once 20 miles away.
