MORE accurate doesn't mean it's 100% Sunbow accurate. I'm not looking to argue, but please do not take my words out of context. ER is MORE accurate than the Siege mold, that doesn't mean either is truly Sunbow accurate.

More like 0% accurate. It's trash. You love it because it looks like your beloved g2 Megatron. It is not even remotely a good example of a g1 Sunbow Megatron.

No, I accept the fact that there will NEVER be a Sunbow accurate Megatron from Hasbro. I think the ER mold is good enough, but thank you for putting words into my mouth. I wish you well, but as I said, I'm not looking to argue. Don't expect any further responses from me.

Idk man, I really enjoy siege megatron. He looks great with the other three main siege decepticons and they're all fantastic enough that I never need to buy g1 again

(Aside from Alpha Trion, but he's more of a Prime than a G1 guy at this point anyway)

I love this design but it always felt a little too Dinobot to me.

Tank mode Transformers are the most superfluous of Transformers- they are just as armored and armed in robot mode, but with increased mobility and accuracy, so why bother with a tank mode at all.......

    There's so many possible redecos.

I still think that a good G1 Megs should be done though. The WFC toys simply don't cut it in terms of proportions, kibble, articulation and headsculpt. G2 Megatron was also done really dirty by being a redeco of the crappy WFC mold.

But can it be done? If you have a Megatron that transforms into anything other than a gun, you're going to have kibble that throws off the figure's silhouette and thus wouldn't be accepted as a good G1 Megatron.

Fair, but again, we're at 8 uses of the WFC molds. If Prime can move on to G2 then so should Megatron. Take a break from G1 and circle back around to allow distance so that the next time they tackle the G1 bot mode they can have a fresh perspective.

This is where I'm at. And honestly, considering there's a vocal subset of the fandom that is clamoring for a SS86 Optimus despite the ER one being fine, I don't think Hasbro can do a G1 Megatron that will be largely accepted by the more vocal members of the fandom.

Kibble will always be a problem, the only way to deal with it is reducing it. One of the biggest things WFC Megatron did wrong though was designing a tank on top of the robot, not out of it. The front of the tank was almost entirely on his back, which doubled the size of his torso. Next time around maybe the shoulders and chest could form the front of the tank. The tank turret could have the barrel flip spots and become the back barrel from the gun mode. The legs could use more panels to fill out the rear of the tank. The feet could fold and flip the become the back of the tank instead of just hanging out.

It's crazy how we got tank Megatron but not that one.

Armada before G2, I'm not complaining (love both desings and I will pleasurely wait for both) but it's just weird that Armada is the one to go for the Transformers team before G2.

Guys, what if the upcoming Bludgeon is this: bludgeon-1527063-normal.jpg
Then that means G2 Megatron is on the way! Both Bludgeon & G2 Megatron fans will be satisfied! Peace for TFW in our lifetime!

they could take cues from siege/er except having more cartoon accurate proportions. while it would result in an honestly laughably goofy and slim tank mode, i think having the treads on the legs and backpack be removable with a stylized gun mode accessory imo would work wonderfully. everyone wins that way and i doubt that he would surpass the voyager budget. (also give him proper wrists he is goddamn megatron)

Well, if they did I'd be passing on Bludgeon. Totally would pick up the G2 Megatron from it though if they did him in his Combat Hero purple colors.

I don't know if it's been brought up before but all the talk about a possible animation style g1 Megatron that still turns into a tank got me thinking.

With some tweaks to size and aesthetics there's already an existing transformer with engineering that works for a tank and nearly kibble-free bot Megatron...

And a make believe gun mode.

    WFC Impactor.

    Imagine:

The outer part of the legs/treads can be black. The front facing part of the legs (top front of tank) colored in silver. The inner legs can be colored in red (with the gaps covered.)

Impactor's arms and chest fold up in a way that allows for Megatron to have animation style arms and chest. The waist in red.

The fusion cannon can simply attach at the front in much the same way as Impactor's gun already does.

And, if you've ever transformed Impactor, it's easy to see that if you leave his legs pointing straight down from the tank turret he even has a "use your imagination" space gun mode.

And best of all no kibble!
