I'm guessing that head is the old one and not included. Sourcing the old drift just for the head is like $200 lol not happening for me. Really need IF to include the IDW head with this release

 

I thought the white repaint had a new headsculpt, but apparently it's just the old IF Drift's head swapped onto the new white repaint? If there's nothing else new besides the coat of paint, I don't think I'm bothering with picking this one up.

 

no, whoever posted the picture put the old IF head on him. the head is the same as the blue drift head, so yes, the only difference is the color scheme

 

It’d be nice if they would include it for those that want it, but I think the samurai head looks better. But then, I think the blue/gold deco looks better, too. The white/red deco looks sort of cheap to me, and the old head only reinforces that impression.

The tolerances are much improved over the blue version. It's still not close to my favorite Iron Factory mold but this is significantly better.

 

Do you have the white Lio Prime? Id like to see them side-by-side.

 

Are there any video reviews on the white one? Just wanted to see more of him. If I do get him, maybe painting thaighs and biceps black would be cool :3

 

This plus some of the alternate hip skirt transformations has convinced me to order this guy. Drift is a favorite of mine, but I kinda despise the samurai themed head that the movies gave him.

 

I love this alt mode. Iron Factory gets a ton of flack for their alt modes but the cars for their Samurai series have turned out fantastic imo!

 

There is hardly any in hand photos shared of White/Red Drift so I thought I’d post some. I had actually sold off my first copy of him but picked him up again after messing around with Blue Drift.

I actually really like Drift in blue, perhaps more than in white - especially in alt mode since the lighter colors expose the hinges and panels more. However, the tolerances on white Drift are dramatically better. He can actually be played with, without parts falling off. I also noticed that his knees require less force to transform.

The alt mode is still super cool IMO.





I used to hate the hip armor but I now really like the way it all looks. Drift is actually one of my favorite Iron Samurai figures. I do wish he came with a better sword as I find the hilt to be too blocky for my tastes. I’d love to get a black/red TLK version as well.

Prowl is a remold of drift and much of the samurai aesthetic is lost. Honestly if he has been released without the Samurai designation, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. I do like Prowl as well but not as much. His alt mode is cleaner - at the cost of a much more frustrating transformation with less panels and parts able to move in a small space. It’s interesting that Drift is almost an off white color where Prowl is much more stark.
