Dumb question: Would you guys be against the idea of Armada Side Swipe getting a better, brand-new, anime-accurate mold in Legacy that did the character some proper justice; and improves upon where the ugly old Armada toy failed?

Honestly, as controversial and poorly-received his original toy was back then (And still to this day), seeing how well both Legacy Cybertron Override and Metroplex turn out (And to a slightly lesser extent, Legacy Armada Starscream) makes me wonder what the designers at HasTak could do with this character, and what sorts of "magic" that they're capable of to redeem him and make this design looks awesome.

 

I'd be fine but there are so many more deserving characters from Armada. Even with the confirmed Starscream and rumored Hot Shot, Prime, and Megatron, I'd rather see more members of the main cast, like Red Alert, Demolishor, or Scavenger (who would benefit about as much as Sideswipe from a version not crippled by its gimmicks).

 

I don't care what they do or not do in regards to Armada Sideswipe, but I would prefer they use the money to give us something else. Now that they have the JP3 mold, maybe they could do an updated Red Alert.

 

I'd be down for any Armada updates. We sort of did already get an updated version of him with SG Treadshot though

 

I'd be pretty happy. I always thought the design was neat (having Road Caesar homages in it) and getting a new toy that could a lot less held back by its gimmick would be coo.

Not familiar with this version of the character, but if it looked like a cool figure I wouldn't demoan its existence.

 

Honestly I'd like a new Armada Sideswipe, Without any gimmicks hindering it I'm sure they could actually design the figure to be less of a clunky mess that the original toy was.

 

I had to vote I Don't Know. The original has been so crapped on over the years that I have developed as soft spot for it. Sure it could use an update but not sure I could replace the original in my Armada collection.

 

I have no idea. There's was always hope that he would get an update since he had such an awesome alt mode, but given how mixed I feel about a lot of Legacy I couldn't say one way or the other if I'd be excited. Really all depends on the final product.

Although if we're talking updated Armada figures I'd be much more enthusiastic about Sideways and Overload.

 

Well, I will want a Stepper for a Legends of the Microns shelf eventually (to go with this year's Starscream and next year's Megatron), but with any luck it won't look much like the original toy, except in broad design and colours.

 

JP-93 is a) kind of garbage and b) aside from having a similar chest, they're nothing alike. JP's alt mode is way too long too.

 

It couldn't possibly be worse than the original, so why not.

 

Saw the name Armada Sideswipe, but my mind thought Armada Wheeljack - and I voted yes. After seeing the error of my ways I changed my vote, but I'm not opposed to them making one.

 

Eh, not like they could do much worse than the original, apart from setting it on fire. Why not?

 

I’m 100% in for any Armada updates. The originals have their charm but even back then they were a huge step backwards for me after getting hooked into collecting again thanks to the RiD Car Brothers.

And honestly, Sideswipe is at the top of my want list since the original Armada one was so hilariously terrible.

 

Side Swipe would be a great choice because I genuinely don't see how a modern figure couldn't be an improvement.

 

It's a pretty low bar to improve upon so I say go for it. Redo the rest of the guys with brick toys while you're at it: Smokescreen, Blurr, Scavenger, and Sideways come to mind.

 

How about gimme the green armada Unicron?
I hope KO company's get the mold from haslab Unicron so badly and make downsized versions around Jetfire height or something

 

I'm not opposed to it. He may not be among my most wanted Armada update but he's certainly among the ones that need it the most so yeah why not?
