Aw yeah, first Legacy Iguanus and now BW Iguanas! IT'S THE SUMMER OF IGUANUS!!! This is really cool though. It's neat seeing these non-show characters showing up at retail, I always thought they had cooler designs than the show characters. I would like to see Legacy take a crack at a few of them. (Come on Insecticon, Clawjaw, Bonecrusher, & Razorbeast!)
Is it just me or does anyone else see those little baby corn thingies when looking at his upper arms??
I\'m starting to wonder if Hasbro just doesn\'t have the molds for most of the cartoon cast anymore, because it seems weird to do a reissue line where the figures look a bit more accurate and then just start doing toy/comic characters
Didn’t expect Iguanus to pop up. The Beast Wars basics are a real strong batch of figures, I hope they keep going with this. Snapper, Spittor and Powerpinch would be nice to see. If we could do Razorclaw in the VHS colors that would be awesome, I’ve wanted one of those for a long time.
Ah there's the frilly boy I missed out on as a kid. Normally I'd comment about basics at deluxe pricepoints but HOLY SMOKES some of these basics really shot up in price. I can get Snapper, prices shot up drastically thanks to Skold but holy moley look at them Razorbeast prices. ANYHOOO loved Croc Megs as a kid so very much eager to have a second chance at adding a nice minty frilly boy to the collection. Not even to have a MOSC version?
Hoping to see Snapper show up in this line. Childhood fig and lost it in a move, plus his prices are extremely high fsfr.
Is this their way of doing these characters in present day without doing updated molds/tooling like the Kingdom line?
I don’t think that would stop them, Rattrap is a new mold made for the reissue. Fur patterns are completely different from the original. Parts of Cheetor/Tigatron might be new as well, given the cheetah head can’t fold up as tightly as the original did. So they’ve already shown that they’re willing to create new molds for show characters.
I guess the better thing to say would be "Hasbro would rather just take the cheapest option but still sell it at a premium".
Makes sense. BW toys already had ball joints so they 'could' pass off as modern toys. Plus they may have doubts about investing in new molds. If the old molds are alright, it saves 100s of thousands in cost
Beast Wars was going to be G1 in skin suits for quite a while in it's development. Bringing over some of the characters and animalistic names makes sense. I've long held the belief that Armordillo was originally going to be called Ironhide.
Not in this case. The head not foldind down all the way is a retool done by Takara back in the day, when they released BW the first time in Japan.
