I just got one of these guys from Show.Z, and for the most part it's pretty good. Some of the paint isn't perfect, particularly on some of the faces, and some of the joints were a bit loose (a little floor polish seemed to have helped that), but it overall ain't too bad considering it is a KO.

... Except for one thing, one of his feet broke off. I can kind of get it back in there, but I hope I can get a replacement part since I don't think it'll hold too well.

Yeah, THF can do exactly the same configuration as MP-36+. Just rotate the barrel and flip it down and you're there.

 

Anyone know if or when the cell shaded it01 will be available

 

Can anyone suggest a good pin punch for this situation, as well as any advice on punching the pins.

My It01 reissue was one of the weak crotchity Megatrons.

Switching the legs over was a breeze. The torso not so much.

 

My Glock armeror's pin punch would probably work. I used it to fix FT Scoria. I would stick with a polymer punch and tap very gently. Also, inspect the pin to figure out which direction it went in from and back it out that way.

One end of the pin may look flared out or one end may look pinched. Whichever side looks most narrow is probably the end that is the leading one.

In other words if the pin is shaped like below (tapering with the thickest part on the right) tap it out from the left.

So after about five hours of fighting with this thing I finally have the new crotch replacement installed.
Admittedly I was only able to successfully knock one pin out of this thing, at the base of the neck/trigger guard. It took some prying at the bottom halves of the torso to get the waist peg out. There was definitely some pretty tense moments, but I'm happy to say after a year of waiting my IT01 is whole again.

 

Can anyone provide some guidance on the best KO version as it stands today? Most are sold out it seems.

or should I just wait for something to come in the future?

 

IT & straight ko are only ones available new ATM that I know of. Thing is even the named 4th party are still glorified ko & if the stock dries up you may never get one w/o paying near takara prices on the used market. I've personally seen someone selling the magten on ebay used as "rare" & they were trying to get within spitting distance of new TT price for it. Don't count on a reissue just happening.

I'd say go for whichever store you trust to get you replacement parts like show.z & call it a day.

I got one in the other day and it's pretty good for the price. Mine had a few minor paint mistakes, some joints in the arm are loose, the rear barrel hinge is loose, and the die cast feet pins are loose. Nothing is a deal breaker. I can confirm that so far the hip hinge has made it through 2 transformations but I probably will not try a third. Shipping to US from OMP was fast. I think I got mine in less than 10 days.

 

I had a good experience. Fast shipping and price was pretty good w the USD to SGD conversion rate.

 

I received my IT-01 today from TF Safari. Little disappointed after having read so many positive reviews. The rear cannon is loose, the left foot is loose and the arm cannon is warped, so it doesn't stay on. Wondering if there is some way I can bend the plastic to make it fit.

 

Yeah it's unfortunate that the latest batches have kinda been very spotty qc wise, I was fortunate to not have one with any issues, but i barely even touch him. Maybe you can try some hot water to warm up the plastic and bend it back slowly/carefully. A hairdryer would be a second alternative, but it's awful thick plastic to try and get hot. The foot and barrel should be an easy fix, with some future.

 

Have you checked for an assembly issue on that? Looks like it's not just warped.
