I bought 2 MPM-13 Blackout at Target Rosemead yesterday. The cashier was surprised that this toy could be so expensive. It was worth it to me.

So later on this year I'm planning on possibly going to Los Angeles for my birthday, and one of the places I was going to visit was Frank N Sons collectibles, I heard a lot about it on this place and was wondering what should I expect going in when it comes to Transformers? Want to make sure I can find some good deals if there is any.

Sonora Walmart got a case of Velocitron Deluxe in last night, but I was told by one of the associates that another "team member" opened the case in the back and bought them for himself.

I hate that Walmart so much. I went in last night to return the "Cosmos" I bought off Walmart.com (they sent a crushed Road Rocket). Four associates later and they finally refunded my money. I told them I don't want a refund, that I just want the item I bought. I even gave them the UPC, which they kept typing in wrong so nothing would come up. I kept telling them the number on their screen isn't right, and they kept insisting they don't put the first number in. Two weeks ago, same location, they found it using the full number. I tried SIX different floor employees, none would look it up correctly. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. I don't know if I even want Cosmos now. I think I have too much hate associated with it now, and I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.

What's weird is this isn't remotely a super trashy WM, it's gross like all WMs but it's not nearly as bad as most of the ones east of the 5. Everything in the health section is also behind glass, electronics, men's socks and underwear (I used to buy my Hanes socks here a lot, as soon as they locked them up I just started buying them elsewhere entirely), on and on like that. I heard so many calls for keys in that 20 minutes I was waiting for someone to show up after my THREE SEPARATE CALLS from employees I flagged down. I should have just picked the stupid lock, it's just a tubular lock and if cheap enough it can be picked with cheap ball point pen.

Then you go into the Target on the other side of the 405 and nothing's locked up, it's not even a nice Target but they still keep things mostly out of glass displays, and their employees don't act like they work at the DMV while having to also beg for change to afford lunch.

Frank and Son (singular) Collectible Show is full of dealers and scalpers, you will see a lot of older stuff from all sorts of booths, and a few will have new items, perhaps super new items. Some will be very expensive, some will be shockingly reasonable, I've never known that aspect to be especially predictable and I've been going since '97. Try not to go nuts at the first booth you see as you can comparison shop if you feel they have enough supply to wait, but don't push your luck there either. There will be a booth with a ton of Gundam models that is a little more professional-looking than the others, they'll likely have the newest stuff. Weekends are generally way, way busier than Wednesday evenings. Bring a larger bag, they may have bags for you but they'll be small and it's a pain to drag around rattly cheap sub-grocery bags if you don't have to, especially when they smell like the booth's lunch (I have had that happen). Know what you are looking for and have a flexible idea of other things you might like to see, don't let your wallet get drained faster than you expect, it's easy to get overly excited by some cool stuff and end up dumping your trip's money right at the outset.

ah reminds me of a fun story one of the Walmart’s here in Sacramento has most of the automotive section locked up.I was booked down just outside of Walmart so I went in to get some parts to fix my car. I waited 30 minutes after I pressed the button for assistance. The whole time I was asking associates for help yet kept being told they would call or didn’t have the key. I ended up calling corporate and making a complaint. The very helpful csr even called the store identified himself as working at Walmart customer care and he got the run around. He got pretty mad and demanded to speak the the store manager on his 3rd phone call. A few min later the 1person who told me he didn’t have the keys came over and unlocked the cabinet. This whole process took 2 hours.

I feel ya. Was waiting at the Chico store to buy a dog collar and leash for 30 minutes because they couldn't find an employee with a key. Turns out he was on lunch break.

I prefer to drive 30 minutes south to Woodland. Store is huge, clean, not a glass case in sight. It's in the middle of nowhere, all farmland around it.

Man, WM is the worst even to its own employees! Also, I tried both "call an employee" button boxes, which were on the LEGO aisle because that's the most valuable customer area, and both of them had no power to them. When WM moved out of my part of town, it was a curse for finding exclusives but also a blessing for not putting up with their crap, which they have endless supplies of.

Heads up to folks in the Oakland/East Bay area.

Looks like the TF section at Walmart in San Leandro on Hesperian due for its reset by Sunday and is holding for that before putting out Velocitron, so keep an eye out. Should show up soon. For now, it's just Legacy wave 1 and the Halloween Horrocon figures.

Couldn't get any info at the Walmart at Davis/Gate10, but it doesn't look like they're as far along with their reset.

i think I can echo that story. I was at a WM that has glasses cabinets protecting some automotive stuff mainly the air filters but I don't get it why some of the air filters were not locked up. Then the Automotive department had two staff dealing with onsite customers... it is just so stupid I bet only a certain employee has the key. And yes, they CANNOT MULTI-TASKING!!!! Walmart employees suck. I would say most of them.
