In the Bay movies, Optimus saw unthinkable horrors (bodies, likely including small children, mangled in ways that would’ve earned at least an R rating) while fighting his way back into Chicago, and decided that he was going to destroy those responsible for them even if it was technically a war crime.

 

Take Sam and Epps's drive back into Chicago, with the chaos, destruction, distraught civilians, and corpses, and add in the understanding that the person Optimus looked up to and whom he rescued is responsible for it, and his reaction becomes perfectly understandable. I maintain to this day that the Wreckers shouldn't have been the ones to kill that flyer slaughtering fleeing humans: it should have been Optimus.

 

Hot Shot's personal starship is called the Excellion.

 

Override and Nitro Convoy are siblings. Override has the colors of her Legacy toy while Nitro Convoy is in the color scheme of the GTS Override toy.

 

Programming in Cybertronians plays a role equivalent to that of instinct in humans and other intelligent lifeforms. It underlies but does not override their ability to make choices. Before a new TF is brought to life, they are pre-loaded with the necessary instinctual programming, allowing them to make use of their various functions and interact with the world immediately upon first activation.

 

Adding to this, Transformers with a purely military origin (including almost all Decepticons) have significantly different programming with a much higher level of self-preservation and willingness to use deadly force. A small number are able to override it and turn good, and vice versa, although there are technologies like the robo-smasher that can forcibly reprogram a bot.

 

Rattrap is descended directly from Omega Supreme, and indirectly from Arcee.

After Omega Supreme was mentally scarred from being betrayed by Nova Prime, it was Arcee who helped him find his way again by becoming an "artificial cityspeaker," and he came to see her as a sister.

As a Titan, Omega Supreme was capable of creating a hotspot for sparks after becoming immersant, and so he did in the ruins of Crystal City, and his descendants rebuilt the land. The Matrix holder of the early Beast Era, forged in Crystal City, who planned to create new heroes amidst political unrest, reached into the Matrix hoping to commune with Omega to embue the sparks of several Cybertronians with fragments of sparks Omega knew and trusted in life that had now become one with the Allspark. But Omega Supreme's hotspot was no longer capable of forging sparks due to age, and he had to connect to Vector Sigma to forge them at unknown locations around Cybertron.

Though Rattletrap grew up a nobody in a slum that hadn't yet been rebuilt from the Great War, unbeknownst to him, he inherited the sharp wits, skills, intelligence, and deep down, even the compassion of ancient Autobot Arcee. Eventually, Rattrap heard a voice in his spark, which enlightened him of his origin and encouraged him to take action, and he left behind his career as a small-time assassin and became a private "specialist" who helped the Maximal Elders keep the peace during the Pax Cybertronian Cold War and became renouned for his skills, leading to him being strongly recommended to be assigned to a seemingly mundane civilian ship tasked with exploring and surveying uninhabited worlds...

 

In my eyes the Quintessons had nothing to do with the Transformers' creation, instead after one of many civil wars lead to ancient Cybertron laying dormant with lifeless husks littering the planet the Quintessons discovered it and used the materials to create the Omega Guardians and some other drone type Transformers while reprogramming the natives to serve them. After the rebellion few Cybertronians knew their own history due to the Quintesson oppressors destroying it, and indeed none of them even today know where new Cybertronians come from. Only that sometimes fresh faces wander out from within the network of tunnels and ancient crypts underneath the surface of Cybertron.

In secret Alpha Trion knows it is the will of Primus, as carried out by the ancient supercomputer Vector Sigma, who creates new life and he guards it zealously while helping guide newly forged Cybertronians to the surface.

 

Buster Witwicky's real name is Daniel; and in some realities, Spike and Buster both have sons named Daniel. Buster's son is Daniel Witwicky Jr., and Spike's son is Daniel Irving Witwicky.

 

Early in the war, before each side had claimed a design style, the Dinobots stole a cargo freighter called the Graviton that was in a decepticon controlled spaceport. Down the line the Decepticons began mass producing that model of freighter in purple as their primary cargo ship, leading to the legend that the Dinobots fly a stolen decepticon ship. So there is some truth to that story, but not the way people assume. They fly it under the moniker Skyreign (because thats a sick name and Skyfire is a living person they know so it would be weird to name their ship that, also I hate the concept of Skyreign the combiner so he doesn't exist in my headcanon). The ship in modern times is almost unrecognizable due all the kitbashing the Dinobots have done across the war. The many times they've crash landed and had to rebuild the ship from scratch, the many other ships theyve torn asunder only to pilage and add parts to their own, the upgrades and downgrades from millions of years of war. Because of the legend around their ship's origin, many Decepticon fleets will entirely reroute their fleet to go after the Dinobots instead of continuing whatever assault they were in the middle of, purely out of spite and for the glory to reclaim the ship for the Decepticon cause. This leads the Dinobots to utilize this as a tactic, drawing fire away from wounded autobot ot refugee ships. This became hyperlethal when combined with a modified holoprojector using hardlight that could make a decoy ship to lure decepticons away while the real Skyreign attacked from behind. Reminder that we're talking about a huge ship made to carry smaller ships but is instead modified by some of the most brutal warriors the war had ever seen, so you get a massive ship with guns everywhere. They also used their ship to save refugees or crews from damaged vessels, they have the space.

The Firecons were originally a group of 4 small disposable caste siblings. Sparkstalker, and his three sisters Cindersaur, Flamefeather, and Torchslash. They had regular vehicle modes. They were early members of the Rise and big fans of violence. They were killed early on in the beginning of the war. Shockwave, being Shockwave, took their corpses and used them for super soldier experimentations. Using a stash of sparks, corpses, and even living test subjects, Shockwave began his dinobot experiments. After a long trial and error, the four firecons were given new sparks and infused with a hodgepodge of CNA, mutating all four of them into raptors. Out of the four, Torchslash was the one that finally unlocked the right genetic combination for Shockwave to move onto the real subjects, the main Dynobots themselves. When Grimlock and the others broke out of Shockwave's lab, they liberated all the experiments they could find, destroying everything in their wake. They found two pods on their way out, one labeled Cindersaur and the other, damaged, only read Slash. Shockwave purposely let the two firecons join the Dinobots so he could track their movements using the two remaining, but Slash ends up genuinely joining the Autobots. Slash is the only member of her family that cannot remember any of their previous lives before the experiments. Later down the line the remaining three Firecons are further mutated into their monster forms to level them up.

 

Bomb-Burst and Ratbat are twins. They were vampiric ancient cybertronians that had small but monstrous robot forms and normal hover jet vehicle modes. In ancient times they went by Blood and Stridek. They possessed the ability to drain energon through two pointy teeth. To the early cybertronian civilization, they were living myths out to hunt any and all bots who wandered out too far from home. Eventually Ratbat gave up this predatory lifestyle and illegally was given a rather large frame for his small spark, the form that would go on to become a senator. It's only ironic that Soundwave would later trap Ratbat back in a small animalistic form yet again, going full circle. Bomb-Burst on the other hand remained in the wilderness killing and stalking right up to the war, which is why legends regarding him never dissipated over the eons.

 

Inspired by @Dark Starscream's thread, here's my headcanon for Sunbow Nemesis Prime:

Nemesis Prime was built by Dr. Arkeville based on the schematics of the Optimus clone from A Prime Problem and piloted remotely via a miniature version of Megatron's control helmet. Instead of the Matrix, this clone has a psychic override device that allows him to temporarily control the minds of other TFs exposed to its power.

 

As far as the origins of my tf universe? The details have been lost in time.

 

Grimlock is not stupid. He’s a brilliant tactician, possibly even a genius. His arrogance and anger are foils that constantly interfere with his abilities to succeed 100% of the time. The Dynobots were born in Simfur so their initial upbringing and first language was all Simfurian. Unlike the other Dynobots Grimlock had a hard time learning a secondary language, especially Neocybex, the most common language spoke on the planet, spread from Iacon, capital city of Cybertron. So while the other Dynobots can speak it fluently, Grimlock only speaks a few words of it in comparison, so he has to search for the right terms. All of this combined with a speech impediment from Shockwave’s tampering later in the war led to the notion that he’s a simple minded brute.

 

The annexation of Vos was one of the Decepticons’ most significant early victories. Air Marshal Starscream, conspiring with Megatron via Soundwave, staged a coup against the Vos government, allowing Decepticon soldiers to infiltrate the city and with the aid of the Seekers, seize the city from within. For his part in the plot, Megatron rewarded Starscream with an elite rank in his new army.

 

In some universes, Hazard isn't a separate individual from Blitzwing, but rather one of his alters.

 

Ironfist is a very interesting fellow. Sibling to Crankcase, Ironfist was prone to random hyperfixations and distractions. Always a tinkerer at spark, Ironfist would think of something and spend countless hours pouring all his love and attention into crafting a new weapons system or tool, only to immediately begin working on a new concept. The autobot cause owes Ironfist, for it’s his weapons that allow them to keep up. Ironfist is also the “bot in the chair” for Wreckers missions. Using the codename Fisitron both in online wreckers forums and during missions to keep his identity safe. If the decepticons found out the Autobot’s primary weaponsmith was going on suicide missions on a daily basis as a hobby they’d do unimaginable things to him in order to procure those weapons for themselves. The name Fisitron started simply as a way to make sure Crankcase couldn’t track down his brother, and quickly became an incredibly important alter ego. Along with supplying the wreckers with experimental weapons that didn’t pass the autobot quality and safety inspections, he also built the disposable caste bot Seaspray a transformable suit of power armor so he could wreck with the best of them. Fisitron’s intel during battle is key, and he also acts as backup pilot, meaning that not only does he remain on the ship during missions, but he can easily fly the ship into war zones and rescue the wreckers if needed. To an untrained eye he’s got the qualities of a coward, he’s meek and shy and fumbles with his words, but even when captured and seemingly unarmed he keeps his bravery and tact close to his chest, as his front grill and bumper are literally just a double miniaturized fusion cannon hidden in plain site. He’s avoided capture for the entire war using this method, because his captors never live to warn the next.

 

SG Quintessons are space hippies who take in refugees from planets devasted by the war between the Autobots and Decepticons.
