Thanks to the tiny Prime Master Metalhawk Pretender shell, Titans Return Metalhawk was able to be a Headmaster and Pretender. Sort of like Grand Maximus.
Yeah, Metalhawk is great in that we got a robot with a head that went into the little shell so you could simulate both of his forms. I have him use the weapon mode of the shell while in robot mode. Heck, you even could even use the derpy Botcon Metalhawk as well if you wanted a giant human.
Hasbro thought the same thing, which is likely why there's another Metalhawk rumored to be on the way.
Yeah man new head toolings and slight alterations to decos have never been a thing in transformers before!
Based on the Legacy Pretenders we’ve seen so far, I think the Metalhawk we’re getting next year might be similar to the Timelines toy since both of them would be transforming “shells” with altmodes (although Legacy Metalhawk’s jet mode would probably look more like his inner robot’s gold jet mode than the Timelines toy’s blue jet).
Too bad we never got an updated figure of Fixit to go with that shot. My preference would be for a straight up recreation of the inner robot, both modes based on the animation model, without trying to emulate the Pretender shell. Though, I wouldn't say no to a faithful recreation of the Pretender shell in the R.E.D. line.
Oh god, I hope the new Metalhawk isn’t based on the spindly abomination that is IDW Metalhawk… He might as well have been a whole new character as he shared no qualities from Masterforce Metalhawk.
Idk, I didn’t read Idw and obviously didn’t grow up with G1, so both to me from just a design perspective look equally shit tbh.
The weird arms that make no sense with wings as elbows and the color placement of the legs and torso are wacky. Just looks really weird.
