Yeah, I feel the ADL article is a tad misleading, and the Wikipedia page is a bit more clear about the specific symbol Sun of the Empire is using.

Yes, there were Zierscheibe - Wikipedia in Europe going back millennia, but nothing that I can tell looks exactly like the symbol that Sun uses.

And, of course, I think that's because it looks like they edited a copy of the Sonnenrad design that Heinrich Himmler commissioned for Wewelsburg Castle.

Now, I think it unlikely that Sun upholds the beliefs that encircle that symbol, but I do think that it is terribly disappointing that he can't just at the very least come up with a new logo to use going forward, and his reticence to doing so over the years is additionally disturbing.

 

well i can't say for sure if it was intentional or not. but over the years it has been post many of times on their youtube. so they are aware of the issue and just don't give a fuck.

so to me that is exactly the same thing as going along with it at this point.

 

just saw this up-grade kit coming for IR lions. So basically change him from Samurai style to PE style. (I like both, and options are always good, like Emgo keeps saying in his videos).

Fuck, then I will need another Lio Convoy and the upgrade kit. The PE style is as close as you can get to an IDW Beast Wars The Gathering Lio Convoy, which I've been craving for like an eternity.

While I'm less interested in swapping the Lion head, everything else seems pretty cool, most especially the sword, the back cannons and the alternate left shoulder.

But, if this kit doesn't allow the various Lios to transform, then I'd probably skip it.

Yeah, I still like the OG head, but I think I am down for this even if just for the new shoulder/tail, back cannons, and sword.

Also, I'm thinking again that I really need to get a good red paint marker for Yoroi Shishimaru and a good turqoise paint marker for Kage Shishimaru so I can do a little panel lining to make both pop. I know I found a couple close-ish Gundam paint marker sets on Amazon with greens that might work for Kage, so I should do some more research on those, perhaps.

Then again, I'm still waiting for MMC's D-Zef to come in at TCP so I can ship my Pile of Loot, which has my Kage, as well as Power Falcon and Sonic Wave.

 

great idea, as i love my PE KO! but that lion head sculpt doesn't quite do it for me. so i'm happy to keep them as samurai themed, plus i'm guessing this will cost as much if not more than the bot itself, and i don't fancy paying that much!  

maybe i'll change my mind after seeing more and if price isn't too high.

 

Interesting...maybe need to buy Nemesis or SG version, think I'll keep the original like he is...first need to see price and a review.

 

A bit late to the game, but impulse purchased this today at tfcon, and I have been annoying my friends with how much I love this since!

 

I've looked everywhere if there is still another Lio Convoy, but I can't find one. While I have one, I would like to keep it original and get a 2nd one for the upgrade kit...

 

I just purchased all three versions here. It says they're still more, but the site's status of certain things being in stock is sometimes not always up to date.

Wow, 79 is expensive. Pretty sure I paid way less for my first figure.

 

Late tax is a bummer, especially with tiny Legends and Iron Factory seemingly not being one for straight reissues as opposed to recolors and remolds.

 

I just looked up, I paid for mine 34€ at ShowZstore in 2020

But unless someone finds the shop of the guy selling the upgrade kit, I won't need another copy anyway ^^;

Man the original Lio Convoy colours look so good. I didn't start getting these Iron Samurai guys until the nemesis repaint and I've bought the rest since (except for Lio Convoy, basically doesn't exist for sale for me in the EU). But that red and white one....  Looks amazing

 

Yes and the shiny metallic gold add the premium feeling to it.
At first I bought the IF lio convoy just for matching with my Perfect Effect Origin Leonidas, slowly get addicted ever since.
