I always imagined that my toys looked like the cartoon. Including the scale as in the cartoon. I never understood as a child why the toys didn't look more like the cartoon. And now we have just that; Transformers which look like the cartoon, in the correct scale. Seriously a dream come true for me. Loads of youth sentiment.

 

This line has always been chasing the anime. TakaraTomy and their market have always been chasing the anime. If you want to argue that the toy Cliffjumper looked better than the anime because the anime looked so terrible, I'm not sure you've really looked at toy Cliffjumper...the argument makes no sense in the first place. Then we end up with "Cliffjumper should look like some cool stylized picture of him in my head," but that's not what MP is and it would divide fans much more than the current approach since no two people would even share the same vision. Plus we have plenty of new lines all the time for such re-imaginings anyway.

What drives the MP line are the fascinating pieces of magic where wheels disappear, ladders and cranes vanish, and weapons appear out of nowhere - all within a non-partsforming figure. You won't have that if you aren't driving towards the anime. Skids is very nice, but he's definitely lacking vs something like Sunstreaker, Grapple, Hound, or Trailbreaker. I don't think the MP line would sustain itself if it was only more expensive Generations figures. It must continue to look like fiction, in this case the anime or comics. That's what gives it purpose. It gives the designers a very rewarding challenge.

 

I dont get why people are so up in arms about the backpack or feet. It's not that big of a deal, like bruh

They either have no intention or will get it regardless but only in for the dopamine rush! Just take a look at the furai Windblade thread.  All quiet now.

 

I used to look for IH and Ratchet's head and Prime's Matrix back then.

I'm not sure we do. Private collectors get a hold of prototypes/test shots. So this could just be a collector that has both a skids and Cliffjumper test shot.

I mean it's obvious this is Takara anyway, but not because of this pic.

 

These are mine. And yes they are indeed factory test shots. Only cliff HAS NOT been officially announced nor any official pictures released.

 

Okay, the rep not seeing MP Cliffjumper is either RoTB NDA level subterfuge, or something crazy is going on!

 

It's gonna turn out to be an elaborate sting operation using the smallest and most cost effectively believable test shot to entice and then capture leakers, that only the high ups at TT know about, and isn't ever planned for an official release.   J/K.

Who is Cliffjumper? What is Cliffjumper? Why is Cliffjumper? Oh, pay no attention to the prototype behind the curtain.

The rest of us: Umm, dude. We already know about MP CJ, we've seen the prototype in many non-official pictures. You can stop denying the existance of a Masterpiece we know is coming.

Seriously though, I still think they are deliberately waiting until much closer to ROTB to reveal the first of the long awaited Porsche Masterpieces.  

 

Wow… I’m shocked Takara hasn’t announced this yet seeing how finished it is. I’m being patient and not ordering the Fanstoys figure, but it’s getting harder and harder to not preorder.

 

What if an prototype for a turtle van that transforms into shrek came out?

 

And this thread shouldn’t be bumped until there’s some news of that to avoid people getting false hope now should it?
