Wouldn\'t it have been neat if they used the Japanese blue color version of this put into the old US version packaging? I would\'ve bought that in a heart beat.

    This thread is
    • a show of how the fandom reacts to stuff and I'll leave it at that
    • a show that Hasbro's new way of doing things, especially with the question of the possible missing parts on a freaking re-issue, yet being sold at today's much higher prices (yes, including inflation)
    • making me super glad that I grabbed a few in the last few years as while a silly little figure, I really enjoy the pill bug design (while the robot is crappy, so in bug mode it tends to stay)

There's a couple complete specimens on eBay that're under $30; I grabbed one myself this morning after we got confirmation of the reissue's, uh, issues. Doesn't seem like the aftermarket is too hot yet.

Not surprising... not sure why some appear to make this re-issue into a bigger deal than it needs to be (according to the posts).

It's a non-issue for me, and if I'd see more used ones cheap at events or whatever, I'd buy a few more to army build the bug ranks (as stated, I like the bug's design, and even included it in my story as being part of the original Quintesson army).

I just think it's funny to see it being chosen for a re-issue... but no big deal for me.

This guy was honestly never on my radar in the past due to hearing less-than-stellar things about him. So ironically, it was the choice of reissue that got my curiosity up. I really don't think I'd ever have BIN'ed him off eBay if it wasn't for that. :lol

On my side of it, I think that the spring-loaded gimmick is great... as a crawling bug, it's technically an "icky" bug, but push that button and he folds into a ball with (also spring-loaded) mandible, you can have hours of fun just goofing off with that...

It would be funny if they reissued Transquito and he ended up flying off shelves.

My Terrorsaur arrived from Walmart.com. Did anyone get their Retrax?

Looks like they used the original mold, not Lazerbeak/Hydra

What is the appeal of a modern retrax if you don't like the actual toy?

What? I'm talking about a hypothetical new toy, there's nothing to like or dislike at this stage.

Why would you want a core class retrax, but not the actual vintage retrax? It would just be the vintage one but smaller and without the gimmick.

Because I want to pretend he's a Bakugan? Come one dude, that one should be obvious.

Retrax reissue is out at Ontario, Canada Walmart. Saw this one at the Waterdown Walmart this evening.

Hasbro is purposely trying to kill the BW reissue line. You thought the other BW reissues shelfwarmed? These will start bonfires on the toy aisle.

One of the only cool things about these rereleases is getting the packaging. I've bought almost every original toy for less at flea markets. Seriously, $20 for Rattrap??? I picked up a couple of the Walmart ones on 75% off clearance, more to have the package and backup parts.

Retrax is fun to play with, just because he is a pillbug that turns into a ball. Robot mode is hilariously bad.
