I read that AFA will have graders at some conventions. I've been hesitant to ship my MISB stuff because tape can come loose in shipping. Has anyone ever brought something to the AFA booth at a convention? Can you bring multiple items? Is the line long? Thinking about going to SDCC.
    Thanx!

I would think that it would be difficult for them to grade something and seal it fast enough in a convention setting. Personally, if I wanted something AFA graded (which is unlikely because I open everything) then I would ship it with the best packaging I could get. Do you think it'll be that much safer to bring your prized MISB figure to a convention where you could get ran into or the box could get stepped on?

To recap: I don't know if they do, but if they did, I wouldn't take my precious figures to them in that setting.

Aw, to hell with AFA. They're here in Atlanta, but the won't even let me drop items off in person. I didn't really want to, but c'mon!

no no no NO! they only take sumbissions there, they dont grade the toy there. it just cuts out the shipping for you. also, when you leave an item with them, make sure they put it away with all the stuff being graded. I brought a bumblejumper to the fx to get graded and when i was done signing everything and gave it to afa, I walked around alittle bit, came back and saw my bumblejumper sitting in the exact same place-out in the open and the guy was on the other side of the booth bullshitting. I got in his ass alittle about leaving something so expensive out in the open. it was sitting where someone could just grab it and walk off. anyways-just watch yor stuff. thats all i'm trying to say.-MR

Are they going to be at SDCC, also, how do they store the items at these shows, I hope not just some box in the corner.

I see. The thing I was most concerned about was my MISB Sixshot is only held on by a quarter inch of tape. Are there any other potential problems with mailing items to AFA?
