Orion Pax became Optimus and Ariel became Eilita one but what became of this guy? Did he die?

 

Well He is Ultra Magnus (Major Choose) or Ironhide or Ever Huffer.

 

Really? I thought he became Celine Dion.

 

As has been mentioned in many, many threads before this one, nobody knows exactly what happened to Dion. He was originally scripted to die, but it never made it into the script. This has lead to much fan speculation over whether he could be Ultra Magnus, Ironhide, or somebody else. If you ask me, he was rebuilt into Huffer. The color schemes and bodies of the two or remarkably similar. However, Dion's fate is really left up in the air.

But seriously, if you read the Wings Universe comics, you would see Dion survived, upgraded, and joined the Elite Guard under Magnum. They were both severely injured in battle, and Alpha Trion told Optimus he could only save one. One died, and the other became Ultra Magnus.

why Isnt Dion a more prominent character considering he used to be Optimus's best friend. Ya think hed remember his best friend.

how did he turn from a cybertronion truck to a sports car and seems like hes got a new friend whos hiding in his ass. does Optimus even care how far his best friend has fallen? reduced to being a recolor of something he doesnt even resemble. OP is a false friend.

 

Dion's alt mode always struck me as more of a crossover or car.

 

Dion's heart will always go on and on.

 

I was just talking with Pete from Fun Pub online and he confirmed, although it was left open in the comic, that Dion indeed died and Magnum became Ultra Magnus. At least that's the writers intent.

On a personal note, I like the theory Dion was rebuilt into Huffer.

 

I like to believe that not everyone in Transformers gets resurrected and that Dion died, giving Optimus personal experience with loss and death.

 

I subscribe to this theory. Dion probably died somewhere down the line, and was beyond the point where he could be rebuilt.

But then I personally don't like the idea of death being a revolving door for TFs. While you can mend bodies, you can't restore lost / extinguished Sparks.
