True, but seeing as he's meant to be an SG character, and no other character in either wave has had such a shift with their faction symbols, it shouldn't be the people who want to use him as the intended character who have to go through the trouble.

 

Especially when it's something simple.
Making him the opposite faction.
Yet they managed to not do that somehow.
Both on the toy and box.

We've gotten slight variants of figures before. Can't see why we couldn't have one that has some substance, which could be achieved by a mere faction symbol change.

That would get me to buy two.

Hell, if SG Magnus had a variant like that, I'd get three of him(SG, Magna, Delta)

It’s seems like the majority of this new wave of Shattered Glass can be repurposed as another character and that’s kind of brilliant. Don’t like SG Ultra Magnus? It’s Diaclone Powered Convoy or Delta Magnus or Magna Convoy. Don’t like SG Wheeljack? It’s Action Master Slicer. The real oddity is Flamewar who apparently retains the same deco no matter whether she’s Shattered Glass or not. Though considering all of her molds have been Arcee repaints, you could repurpose her for your head canon as Shattered Glass Arcee.

 

Wonder if the fact that all the SG dudes are there might mean that they'll be getting rereleased. I doubt they'd advertise something they're not selling anymore.

 

Hell, the whole "double duty" aspect could've been achieved by something even simpler.
Leaving off the faction logos entirely.
Call it "Autobot Slicer with Exo-suit" on the box but on the toy, don't have any faction logos.
That way it can be either/or from the get go.

But no, they decided he needed an insignia and they chose the wrong one.
To remind the masses once again, Slicer in this version of SG is not a Decepticon.

 

I wouldn't mind having the Optimus re-released, but if SS86 will have a Voyager Ironhide mold, I'd want SG Ratchet from that instead of it being re-released from Selects.

I'm the type of guy that calls the red one and the blue one whatever Hasbro calls that specific incarnation. That wouldn't work on me.

I’m so tired of Shattered Glass, it confuses me that it became such an “iconic” theme. Most of the color schemes just don’t appeal to me at all (with the exception of Skyfire-colored Starscream).

 

Love shattered glass designs! But at this point, this event has no sense, the yellow elephant is in the room.

Hasbro is showing Transformers that we all know are turning yellow even out of the box.

 

I wouldn't bet on it. I think they just want to have the whole SG collection on display to hype up the ones available for order. After all, they have Victory Saber out and that'll never be available again.

How can you be "so tired" of something that hasn't seen release outside of BotCon until now?

 

the "Reverse Counterpart" universe is something that has been in existence since the original Star Trek series. transformers didn't invent it or make it iconic. Fans love to see their favorite characters in an "Evil" universe. How they look, how they behave, whether or not they have a goatee? Star Trek, DC Comics, Marvel Comics. It is a very popular trope in a lot of franchises.
