He'd probably be better suited to BWII Galvatron, really. Though even then there'd still need to be some retooling to change the head/chest at least.

 

This seems to be the best bird mode for Double Dealer to date. It's a good attempt for a remold. I would like to see coloring. Does the alt mode have a little cab even if painted? I feel like a cab would help.

I felt like they listened to fans from time to time. MP Grimlocks 2nd head and redoing Slag come to my immediate mind. I remember the Scoria bake potato debates. I am sure there are other examples. I feel like they listened to early development ideas. A lot of us have a love / hate relationship with FT. You and I have agreed multiple times that the figures are often designed to sit in one pose and playability takes a backsit.

I love Rung from IDW and MMC did an amazing job capturing the character. The price point seemed on the high side for what I normally would want to pay for that scale. But I realize he comes with a ton of accessories. And I bought him because I wanted to support MMC so they continue to make characters that are less popular.

 

And it was said that Rung wasn't even a full release (3,000 figures use to be factory Minimal release). Kind of wish they numbered them like 1st edition 1 of 1,500. I think that would bring in more collectors as well.

But seriously. I really don’t want a “MP sized” Nautica that turns into the space needle or a Toyota truck  

holding out hope for a reformatted one, one day. Or if it is humanly possibly and people finally start getting tired of “MP/G1,” another company may do her.

I’m glad Rung did well (I think?), and I’m happy that the Pexus’ are doing so well apparently. I hope this gives MMC a clue that this scale isn’t dead and we one day may get news that reformatted is officially off life support and back on track.

 

I am 100% with you, and many more of us are as well. Even @LazyAza said he and some mmc members would of liked a Nautica. Maybe even Boss penguin but the inve$tor$ don't seem to want it. We all know a Nautica, Skids, and Pharma mold would make the mmc fans happy, for sure break even on cost and make money for mmc. It would supply them with enough tfcon exclusives for the next decade, just alone with the amount of seekers they could make. But the bottom line is, the Inve$tor$ only care about what makes more money, which is the genwunners OX lines. The IF line has currently only 1 figure out so it not safe to say the future will be solid, unlike Perfect Series is.

I think the team of Mmc should really sit down and think about another crowdfunding attempt. This time with one of the 3 mold (Nautica, Skids, Pharma) we know the total cost of the figure would be at most about pexus(and clones) price point. And we know from supermax they needed (minimal order from factory is 3000). I have a strong feeling that Nautica being not only a fembot, which the Fandom wants more of, but also the gateway to many more retools and molds of more fembots and a g1 scourge (lol) would most definitely reach the crowdfunding goal. What they should do is have someone work on a design, announced the crowdfunding at tfcon Chicago and that be the start date and keep it going for a few months past Christmas, past Chinese new years all the way until tfcon LA. I doubt it will take that long for it to reach it goal. But at least by tfcon LA mmc could have something more solid like updated final digital render, or even a prototype. And if the crowdfund does prove to boss penguin this is what the Mmc Fandom wants then do another crowdfunding for skids, and pharma. If it fails, well then we know it will never happen and I personally will never bring it up again.

 

In my opinion, Reformatted will never be what it was because IDW 1.0 is over. Most of those designs haven't been brought back into other sources of TF media and it doesn't seem like they will. They are great designs but will most of the Tf fandom still remember them in 5 years?

On a more positive note, keep in mind people like RVDA and LazyAza have said that more stuff is coming for the Reformatted line, they just don't want another D-Zef situation where they drop a render and then due to problems in the factory, it gets delayed to hell and back for years (you guys really want MMC to be like XTB in regard to announcements?). I believe that if people truly believe in Reformatted, they should be patient and wait for MMC to announce things in due time, instead of insisting in every MMC thread in this site about characters that well may be already in development.

So can we get back on topic with the bird that has a massive willy?

 

Considering early 3rd party was made up designs that weren’t even part of any universe current or discontinued, probably would sell well if they look cool and aren’t super expensive.

Then again, those of us wanting something other than boring generic lame af smooth G1 designs seem to be outnumbered….

 

If the lore for a series is there People will remember, And considering IDW 1.0 is the best Transformers lore ever. Then yea People will remember, Heck G1 was 38 years ago and every series borrows from it and it is still profitable so IDW can be to if its done right. Give us are Nautica,Pharma,Skids and there many Repaints/Remolds.

 

All those designs will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.

aware he's a retool of Deathsaurus but yeah. I'd take Stalker, MW Soundwave, or even an original SG repaint of this guy.... crossing fingers for Countdown or Cybertron Defense Red Alert, even if it makes no sense.

 

Sg punch has Doubledealer's colors, so it's implied doubledealer would likely be in g1 punch's colors. Not sure how the lay out would turn out on that one.
Hopefully idw never touches him and gives him ligma colors

 

It's unlikely the next license holder will have too many IDW hold overs besides Windblade, Tarn, and Nickel, since they are getting actual, legitimate, licensed Third Party offerings.

But, it's also not something I can totally rule out.

 

I do think once this guy gets painted up he will look a lot less like D-Zef
