Lol bought tickets on fandango, went to cinemark, got there early and bought sludge at target, they wouldn’t let me enter with a shopping bag so refunded and left. Sludge > Shia

The desert battle was a lot better than I remembered.

It would be nice, not even a pack just individual is good. Especially since those TF1 figure molds (Ironhide namely) are hard to find.

When I was getting tickets, it said there would be “alternative content” but I got there a little late and missed it. Does anyone else know what was shown?

This was not the IMAX release. Instead the additional minutes were behind the scenes footage of the Scorponok desert attack scene also found on the blu-ray release and shown before the actual movie. There were also toy commercials before the movie if you want to call it exclusive content. It was always fun to watch in a theater. The sound was awesome.

I wasn't able to make it unfortunately. I'm really sad because this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Glad to see that people enjoyed it.

Here's hoping they bring it back again in 10 years from now.

They'll have it back in 5 years for its 20th anniversary, I'm sure

Just saw it today (yesterday? It's 1:00am here now).

Extra content was some Behind The Scenes stuff that you could probably find on the Special Edition. No IMAX cut unfortunately.

I didn't see all of it, but when my posse arrived, they were talking about how they did the effects of Scorponok bursting out of the sand and how they used the charges set underneath to help mask and graft the cgi into the scene.

For the record, this has been both a childhood dream and bucket list item fulfilled for me.

This is a true "You must experience this in a theater" film.

Still holds up and is a lot better than the stuff they're pumping out now.

Hard to believe that this quintessential Summer Blockbuster can now be seen as "quaint" by today's standards.

I might be bashing on MCU and adjacent stuff for relying too much on green screen, but there's really something special about the way ILM did the first film.

"CGI might look real, but practical effects feel real."

Say what you will about Bay, but damn if he didn't commit. Every explosion was real, especially the bus, and every car that got flipped was really flipped.

Why not just leave Sludge in the car?

Who's car? The Target and the movie theater are both in the same mall, it's weird to have an in-mall theater that disallows in-mall shopping bags or items, I wasn't even allowed to bring him in by himself

I don't mean to sound stupid, but if you disposed of the bag and held sludge in your arms would the theater allow you in? Was the bag the problem, not the toy?

No I had asked that. It was weird. It’s the theater by my work. I’ve seen around 140 movies there in 8 years (I collect stubs) saw The Batman, No Way Home, MoM, several Ghiblifest movies there with a backpack since The Circumstances let them open up again, but I even offered to crack the tape and show them what was in the box and it was a hard no. Not too upset, I wouldn’t have grabbed Sludge if I hadn’t gone there to try to see the movie

You should've taken him out of the box and just eaten him right then and there, purely to establish complete and utter dominance.

Honestly, I should have, when I saw The Batman, I had the Lego Mario 64 Question Block set with me, and they let me in with THAT (I had a Barnes and Noble gift card, used wisely), the box is HUGE. I should go back with a Lego set again, and bring a forehead light and just start building it in the theater.
*Harried usher comes rushing in, see's me, and gasps* "Oh, thank Primus! You're just building a Lego set, you might have had a BAG!"

Good to hear the quality of the screening. I have heard mixed things about Fathom Events before. I have the only 2 reserved seats for the 7pm show in my town for Thursday. I really hope they don't cancel it because of low attendance or something.

Obviously I agree with you. The score and the visuals make it an amazing scene. You could rewatch it over and over just to see each one of the Autobots transforming.

Unfortunately, I arrived a couple of minutes late on Sunday. Was this the behind the scenes clip they showed?
