Thought all of my figures were miraculously immune thus far but I just picked up a Studio Series BB Ratchet yesterday that was yellowed out of the package. Literally just the right thigh. Lovely.

 

What about GS Cyclonus? I bought him specifically to replace my yellowed Kingdom one but I heard some rumours...

With Kingdom BW Dinobot,

member @reluttr's pieces yellowed DARKER (WFC (Siege, ER & possibly Kingdom)figures YELLOWING quickly)

while member @Orion Snacks pieces yellowed LIGHTER (WFC (Siege, ER & possibly Kingdom)figures YELLOWING quickly)

...UNLESS maybe one toy is in an earlier state of yellowing and they will both eventually match up in color in time.

BUT they don't really effort in ANSWERING questions here.

The ONLY TIME they got TRULY ACTIVE HERE was when a LEAKED of Power Of The Primes figures was posted here years ago with C&D warning.

And guess what? NOBODY GAVE A FUCK. “Oh no! Leaked toys of characters who already have tons of toys! Whatever shall we do?!? Anyways…”
If anything, the leak locked in future sales since people began selling things or budgeting to be ready to afford all those leaked new toys.

You want to leak a toy worth trying to put back in the bottle?, you leak a Beast Machines Botanica or a Cybertron Signal Lancer. You leak toys of characters who STILL don’t have toys yet. Those are the toys people get excited about. They don’t get excited for another Bumblebee, they get excited for a Studio Series Dino or a Legacy G2 Jhiaxus. Toys that make people shout “FINALLY!”

 

Distribution distance might really be a factor here.

I’m thinking based on what was said earlier that me living in a rural U.S. area that is usually last to receive product might have to do with seeing none of it around here.

Keep in mind I haven’t even seen it on shelved product. I generally buy local, and only turned to online when the pandemic hit.

I know that cases of product don’t always ship out in the order they were produced but if we are to assume an extreme chemical imbalance is occurring on near-first press toys then seeing more yellowing from people buying closer to shipping destinations like Singapore makes a lot of sense.

Im sure not every case fits the rule but that may have to do more with stock movement; it may also be complete rubbish. Not enough data.

 

There has been reports of GS Cyclonus ARRIVING with yellowing.

 

If I recall correctly mine was slightly yellowed out of packing

I am located in Indonesia, usually get it later (I think? We just got Legacy Bulky recently).

No yellowing yet, at least on mine.

Me, namely. "Well shoot, my K. Cyc is yellow. Hey, I prefer the toy colors anyway! I'll just get that and have Unicron's heralds in animation AND toy colors!" Months later and I'm cancelling the damn thing right before it ships after having a spot on my shelf open the whole time.

 

Did the every-so-often Kingdom Cyclonus checkup this morning. Ours is still not-yellowed. I think we bought the first one we spotted at stores, at a Gamestop. So we didn’t buy one the appeared later.

This makes me suspect the yellowing issue happened after some figures were already manufactured, which tracks with a character’s figure yellowing and others specimens of it not. So this yellowing issue is effecting later production runs of character’s toys who already saw production. So now that tells me the issue is most likely a change in the plastic, be it added bromine, or bleach, or SOMETHING that clearly is causing a chemical reaction because we’re seeing these toys arriving yellowed or gradually changing to a yellowed state over time. Sunlight is clearly NOT the cause, but heat may be OR it may act as an accelerant of the yellowing, speeding up the process, and thats why we are now seeing toys ARRIVING with yellowing because these chemically effected toys have been sitting in hot shipping containers at the docks for extra long due to Covid-induced shipping backups.

Point is, I gotta get my hands on one of these partially yellowed toys (like Spike) so I can run some tests and see if anything initiates the yellowing or speeds up already yellowed parts.

 

Who said? I’d be curious about this. I’ve reached out a few times through various means, but no response of any note so far.

 

Here are my figures I live in Michigan have central air do to medical reasons keep it at 68* and use incondencent lights as LEDs always seem to be out of stock.

Zero yellowing no idea on batch but all mine tend to be first run before they hit us shelves

 

Cyclonus' right arm above the elbow joint looks orange to me. Might just be the lighting ...
