It's like how so many Prime fans are disappointed by Legacy Bulkhead being modified to fit in with WfC/Legacy while the UT fans sit and go....that's not him either:

It's especially annoying considering both answers are correct for both of those debates, depending on what source material you're looking at.

    1) Cartoon trumps all as it was easily accessed and not forced behind toy aisles that our dumb parents said we didn't need (and yanked us away from). Wheeljack should have been mine...
    2) The few times that Japan was a secondary with a dub to an American idea and that they still did things that would make an sub fan scream (adding more narrator dialogue for starters, some scenes clipped for time, etc).

Yet we'll continue on as we know Hasbro enjoys stirring the pot on this.

People kept saying Bayverse Hound should have been Animated/Prime Bulkhead (wrong) only showed their disrespect to the bot who didn't make the name famous.

Rumble has a personality. Frenzy does not.

SS86 Rumble interests me. Personally, I don't care if Rumble and Frenzy fit into Soundwave or not. I'll just use my Siege bots for that, and the core bots for robot mode. Having better articulation and accessories is more important to me than the size of the cassette modes.

Will Rumble be compatible with WFC Soundwave? Because I would love that so much, but certainly doubt it...

That’s basically how I’m feeling about this. A cartoon-accurate Rumble with piledrivers for around $10-$12 is something I’m interested in getting. The only thing I care about is if there’ll be a TFTM Frenzy in the future. For now, I am content.

    :p

Probably, and if it ends up not being compatible I won't be buying it, even if it has better articulation than the WFC version. There's no reason to release a Rumble/Frenzy that turns into a cassette tape that isn't compatible with Soundwave.

Could...could this possibly be a small hint to a SS86 Soundwave, with which the cassettes will be compatible?
    I can only hope...

Doubt it. They're re-releasing Siege Soundwave this year, with no tapes (his whole gimmick). This will probably be compatible with that.

I think in my head properly sized/articulated Rumble will not fit into a properly sized Soundwave, without some sort of compromise. Like him being really small (what we have now) or making him really thick (so not strictly a normal cassette shape/proportion).

Taking the existing rumble and adding accessories is welcome I guess, but not terribly exciting either.

It's Core Rumble so obviously he'll fit into Core Soundwave.

So, looking at TFWiki, I noticed that Hasbro just does what they want when it comes to Rumble's color. For shits and giggles (and for those that take this shit way too damned seriously) here's all of Hasbro's releases of G1 Rumble:

    Transformers 1984: Rumble is Red
    Alternators: Rumble is Red
Transformers Reveal the Shield: Rumble is Blue
    Kre-o: Rumble is Blue
    Titans Return: Rumble is Red
    Siege: Rumble is Red

RTS was canceled, so doesn’t count, and Kre-o aren’t actual transformers.

RTS was released everywhere else but the US by Hasbro. Still counts.
