Rodan looks great, but at first glance looks much harder to tell apart from the SHMA than the Kong or Godzilla do. Still interested but I bet it’s a different story once Mothra is shown off, since Bandai settled on that one deco.
I've noticed this and Toyark confirmed it:The wings are soft rubber with bendy wires making them poseable.
Well I had no self control today. Found the Mezco packs at Fan Expo Denver today for $175 combined and... well, the picture speaks for itself.
Snagged some Marusan 5 Points Fest exclusives. Ditched Jirass neck-foil and he’s Godzilla once again.
So those Mezco Godzilla figures have far more weight than I expected. I thought they were just hollow vinyls, but no, they're pretty solid. I'm actually impressed on that aspect. On the other hand, I don't think the price should be been more than $50-60 at most. Nevertheless, aside from fearing that Ghidorah's wings will bring with ease, these guys are pretty damn cool and it's going to be great to have some Showa era monsters in my case after I move. My only true disappointment is I thought the images on BBTS showed them coming with some sort of display background. Mine did not have one. That's sad. Now I think I'm going to order the Godzilla vs Hedorah and adult Mothra sets I've heard about. I would have preferred 6inch figures, but these will have to do. They do look great though. Hopefully Mezco announces some more of these like a Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla one that includes King Ceasar and Titanosaurus along with Mothra vs Godzilla and King Kong vs Godzilla.
The real test will be how Mothra and Ghidorah come out. If they can make superior versions of the two that Bandai dropped the ball on then they could become the new source for Godzilla figures and monster toys. I would like to see the other Titans too.
Want to assume the wings can bend more than this, but let's be honest with ourselves. We wouldn't risk bending them to these degrees.
I’d buy that Ultimates Shogun Godzilla if I got the chance. Wonder if a non-exclusive version will get released. Also am curious if calling it “Shogun Ultimates” means this is kicking off a new line with Ultimates versions of the Shogun Warriors.
That licensing is apparently horrible to get. I’ve asked Brian about it in the past. Believe me he wants to do it. It’s what he collects. Hopefully he works it out.
