No one is saying a writer has to write to fit a preview. And as you say the audience for a title is already there so of course the next argument is why have previews then? I don't have any issues with the first 5 pages or in the past at one point 7 pages being previewed.

Going back to my example of regeneration 85 furman himself asked if the preview could start later as the first few pages gave away too much. Which it did.

And you're tarring everyone with the same brush when you say standing around is what fans of idw2 want. All any of us want are good stories featuring our favorite cybertronians. Transformer comics have never pleased everyone not even mtmte or anything else.

As for tarring people, I suppose I misspoke: what I mean is that at this stage, IDW2 is known to be a wordier title where robots argue with one another, so the audience for this book is gonna find bots arguing either as or more interesting than an action scene. Maybe, I dunno.

That's the same problem. I've even admitted that, in the pastm I would be a dick to Bay fans because I didn't like the movies. According to the wiki Jhiaxus first appeared in 2019, which would have been long before his Legacy toy was finalized. The Generations version was his most recent toy at that point.

 

Ruckley has said before that many of the characters he used, like the core members of Team Stream, were chosen independently and without direct input from Hasbro. He just liked them in Cyberverse. Many of the characters he used fill narrative roles similar to those in earlier stories. Put simply, in the case of Jhiaxus, it's almost certainly coincidence rather than planning.
