I grew up on Cybertron, I love those toys from the bottom of my heart, and I'd love more articulated versions of them. The originals are great, but you get used to the niceties of modern articulation like ankle rockers and heads that can look up and going back feels like you're a bit limited. Plus, I've always had gripes with some of the figures, like Scourge's very middling articulation in robot mode, or Crumplezone's weird arm articulation, or Override's entire deal. And that's just Cybertron, the toys I've played with from Energon and Armada feel even more limited in the articulation department, especially now that we've been spoiled for choice by the engineering of modern lines.

That and having ones that have more accurate proportions to the cartoon would be great too.

    Enjoy it.

I like to pose my figures in the way that I want to, photograph them in action, and just plain fiddle with them now and again.

You can pose and photograph "in action" most TF figures, from G1 to UT and beyond. The difference is that a child will play with a brick and turn the carpet into Star Wars, because of that magic ingredient called "imagination".
To expect 1:1 matching in cartoon appearance and human articulation is exactly what an adult would demand of a child's toy.

Then I was a weird kid then, preferring to pose my figures shooting at each other and fighting in a sprawling carpet battlefield. Yeah, there's imagination, but idk, just slamming bricks together wasn't fun. I preferred more articulate figures over the few Unicron Trilogy figures I had, or the simpler side of the movie toys.

I liked stories in my head. Acting things out, not slamming toys together. A brick was less satisfying, unless it either had a MASSIVELY kickass gimmick, weirdly intuitive transformation, or both.

But that's just from me as a kid. Idk what most are like.

That sounds like me, who wants to play with bricks? Articulation is where it's at

No, I understand wanting a more accurate version, I own the original, after all. I just don't understand the needles hostility towards what was obviously a feeler for more UT figures. Like, here lately a vocal minority of fans are just being entitled shits, pardon my expression. G1, BW, Bayverse, Prime, and UT, each has some who are just unreasonable. They act like Hasbro should only cater to their wants and become irrationally angry and snarky if you disagree. As an example, I saw Armada fans demanding a Commander or Titan class Armada OP, and that they sell a voyager version of the cab only. Like, that's never going to happen. Hasbro isn't going to undermine a big budget figure in such a way.

I would expect Masterpiece to be the only venue for a new Magna Jet Convoy. The complexity and size of a new version would never be contained in a Commander or Titan class budget, and I assume we won't see 2-3 commander and/or a Titan utilised just for this.

Magna Jet Convoy was three seperate figures the first time, it can be three seperate figures the second time. IMO I think only Convoy would need to be a Commander. Jetfire and Ultra Magnus could make do with Leaders. (heck, maybe even just a Voyager for Ultra Magnus if they're that cheap)

Cybertron Scourge didn’t even have outward movement at the shoulders, I don’t think it’s that crazy to want a modern update that can do more than an army walk for an action pose lol

Sorry guys, longtime member, but been a long while. Dumb question: is the mold being up-sized here? Or is it a straight recolor of the Cybertron mold?

    Neither, entirely new mold.

Like, an upsize of the original design, but the figure itself shares nothing with the original besides being a figure of said design, with what that entails. Much bigger, neutered the cybertron key gimmick and electronics, but does more with the vehicle and worker modes.

Got it - so that’s sort of what I meant I suppose by up-sized. They gave the Cybertron mold some miracle-grow. But appreciate that the design could change as well.

I pulled my Cybertron Metroplex out and put it with my other Titans, and he looked a bit silly…

In terms of functionality, your Cybertron Metroplex is the superior figure. If you are looking for a massive titan, the Legacy version will do, but the main gains are in the Work Mode.

Bot mode articulation is amazing the head has like 2-3 joints and an opening mouth, there's an ab crunch, ankles hands have some pose-ability, there's also a working waist armor and the head actually transforms a little for work mode. I was never a fan of Cybertron Metro but I'm impressed.

    YouTube (Legacy):
Completely new mold. Looks similar for accuracy sake only. Nothing on the mold is an upscale or reuse.

    Ebay:
Love the look. Not the price and the fact it wont scale with his Gigantion cohorts. But put him in a CHUG collection and he is a lone wolf.
At least override could slot jus fine into a cybertron collection and does apparently have a key slot
