It's kinda ironic how adamant you are on GUOP being good enough for Cybertron Optimus given how many posts you've made complaining about how ER Arcee wasn't good enough lol

Because Earthrise Arcee is actually frikking terrible from a Transformer standpoint?

Not too hard to figure out.

GUOP should have been an Energon homage rather than a Cybertron homage.

The base Magnus bot already looks far more like a redesigned Energon Optimus than anything like Cybertron Optimus.

To be fair, GUOP is at least a competent Transformer. Take accuracy out of it and he's a genuinely good figure. ER Arcee really isn't.

This. Everyone is so hung up on accuracy and not just looking at it objectively. I like him.

Good thing that Takara exhibited Siege Galaxy Prime in the mode that matters and most people remember.

well yeah, siege redwing is objectively a good figure, but that doesn't mean he makes for a good Armada Starscream

Of course not, he would need a heavy amount of retooling to work that way.

Like, generally? I enjoyed them for what they were, but their limitations in articulation were frustrating then and certainly are showing their age now.

I really don't get the hate for him. He's not super accurate but it's obviously a decent attempt to make a good figure that harkens back to the original.
You can't reason with the permanently pissed.

Most collections I have see consist of toy robots standing on a shelf or inside a detolf. Most vocal collectors are G1 fans.
I wonder if "not articulated enough" is just a replacement for "not my childhood".

Nope. It just means they weren’t articulated enough. Good designs that would have benefited from more range of motion. I’d love to have better versions of them at some point.

I appreciate my GUOP for what it is, but that original Cybertron leader figure is the stuff of legend. Probably my favorite figure I’ve ever owned in decades of collecting. That figure is beloved. To relegate him to a G1 Magnus retool, however decent, just isn’t enough. Don’t even get me started on Wing Saber…

And what would one do with that range of motion, for 99% of the time? Sigh.
