I'm nervous about Armada Prime whenever they get around to it. Lots of ways they can mess it up. Everything's always about sacrifices and the thing is with Armada, their gimmicks fundementally define those original toys. Starscream will be a great litmus test to establish expectations for the rest of the cast, now that we know they're coming

I imagine that if they keep many of the gimmicks that they'll drop any spring loaded or minicon activation features and they'll be manually activated. Like Starscream retaining his flip up canons but you'll have to do it yourself. That's my guess anyway.

That, I'm perfectly fine with. In fact, I prefer no spring action cause without those mechanisms we'd get a much cleaner robot. You know, just as long as the fun gimmick aspect is still there

Base mode is the lowest priority for me, but considering the height difference between him and Menasor they should be able to come up with something. Doesn't even need to be the exact base from the show, he only used it like twice anyway.

i personally dont worry about starscream. if they could give a very faithful version of the character in a deluxe scale years ago then i think theyll do him well now. just dont ruin the design

I don’t think the @Jtprime17 product codes are all sequential. So there is no mention of F7189 in the middle of the other three deluxes, but then there’s also 11 products codes not mentioned amongst the core figures.

So unless there are 11 more core figures in wave 1 so secret that they also can’t be revealed, I think we’re reading too much into that one skipped deluxe number.

Like a new Combiner limb? That's the only thing I can think of that would be worth holding back.

Earthrise Leader Optimus is a good figure, but in a state in collecting where basically nothing is off the table or too tall an order, I am holding out for some kind of Studio Series or Commander Class Optimus, we can have so much more than what we got, and settling is a thing of the past when it comes to the modern CHUG offerings. The shortcomings of that figure are clear- corners were clearly cut on the plastic colour for the plastic colour on the biceps, the lack of white or metallic silver on the hips and thighs, the flimsy plastic of the quite small trailer and the unpainted face/eye area.

Given we've seen how the budget can be used with Rodimus Prime with seemingly a lot left to spare, I'm honestly shocked they haven't taken the opportunity to make a "definitive" cartoon look Optimus at that size, a mini Masterpiece of sorts. Paint up the trailer and give it some heft, clean up those cost cutting things and we're talking.

Yeah, that's my concern, too. Motormaster's core robot isn't even that big and the combined form was a simple design, achieved through partsforming, yet they still ended up makings quite a few compromises, on that figure. A design like Armada Prime will be far more challenging, which guarantees a lot more compromises.

If they ditch the base mode, that would almost guarantee that I'd skip the figure.

I sincerely hope an Armada Megatron, at that price point, is larger than that, considering the simplicity of that design. Then aagain, today's Hasbro has a bad habbit of overcomplicating transformations that should be straightforward, something I'm not fond of.

I honestly don’t think they will need to do a partsforming trailer like Menasor for a couple of reasons. The first is that Menasor’s trailer had to become an entire skeleton which includes arms, torso, waist, and legs. Armada Prime’s just needs to become the waist and legs. No need for a bunch of parts to rearrange themselves for transformation. The second is that there is already an existing transformation scheme for the trailer to become the legs. It was shown in the show and used with the original toy. Menasor never had this benefit. The G1 toy trailer was always part of Motormaster in bot mode and not a separate piece. In the show the trailer always just magically disappeared and Motormaster just grew into the Menasor body. All Hasbro has to do is follow the same transformation scheme of having a few panels fold around the sides of the legs they should be all set. FH Naval Commander is a good example of how it can be done.

He was pretty much the same height as Megatron, who is usually presented as a voyager.

Why's he called "Bendy Prime" again?

Megs was taller by about a head in IDW so I imagine Tarn will be around the size of the WFC Soundwave and Starscream figures if they wanted to keep the general scale with Siege/ER Megatron.

This page just reminds me that Tarn should have been Skids and the one on the Lost Light was some sort of time traveler or refugee from an alternative reality instead of the YOUR FAN THEORY IS WRONG subversive non-reveal we had.

I'm hoping he's a decent-size so he scales well with my Super Megatron, who is absolutely huge for a voyager.

Skids? The prevailing fan theory was that he was Roller. Also, Tarn's powers worked as a logical upgrade to Glitch's. Glitch could disable technology by touching it, Tarn could disable people made from technology with his voice. I think this panel in particular really hints to Tarn's true identity:
