I own all of the line except for Bludgeon. I love these characters, I love Iron Factory, and I want to love this line. But the transformations, tolerances, and alt modes just aren’t up to their usual high standard. It’s a shame.

Drift has major design problems. Anyone considering him should definitely check out some video reviews and the thread here.

 

I only have one Iron Samurai figure so far and that's Leo Prime, which is solid as can be in robot mode and perhaps a bit too solid in Lion mode, but harshing Iron Factory for their alt modes isn't a new criticism.

I've also got Nemesis Lio sitting in my Roller's Stash @ TCP, and that'll get moving when D-Zef lands stateside.

Still, my only criticism of Boohmaru is that his arms should be further up on his chest, and, as they are, look kinda weird.

 

Anyone remember an IDW legends scale prime that came out like 2 years ago was like a simplified version of one of the two mp sized ones?

Just out of curiosity, What would you guys say the "best" Magic Square and New Age products are?

Excluding Optimus and any variants of him, of course.

 

I don't know if NA Ultra Magnus qualifies, but I freaking love that figure.

 

For me it’s still the NA Datsun Brothers. Those molds are just absolutely fantastic and look so good together as a group.

 

As do I, but it is a variant of their Optimus.

I've been thinking about NA & MS a fair bit in my spare time...So perhaps I should have rather asked these questions,

Are the older MS figures worth looking for?

And, Is there a NA figure that even NA fans don't care for...In the same way some (most?) MS fans apparently don't care for their Sideswipe, & maybe Cyclonus?

I may ask more questions when I think of them...

 

I would have to imagine that for NA that would be their Megatron. Not terrible, but the gaps and the immediate need for upgrade parts are unfortunate.

Yes. Sideswipe is the only real stinker. I don’t really care for MS Bee and Cliffjumper (others do). Their Seekers need a 2.0. Beachcomber isn’t that good. The rest are all good to awesome.

I wouldn’t shy away from the repaints. Especially the black and toy versions, they’re awesome figures. But for toon I do like MS better.

Make sure you listen to your own preferences, a lot of people like NA Megs, he’s not universally reviled or anything. I still like him and love the EX version.

 

Oh absolutely. And keep in mind that asking which NA release is the worst is a little like asking which of the Crown Jewels is the least impressive. It’s still pretty damn good.
