I wish MP would do away with mushroom pegs of any sort.

 

Thigh swivels and universal joints make sense to use mushroom pegs though imo

 

Train modes only take a little bit of room. 

 

They function but they feel cheap, imo

 

Seeing MP Shouki next to the old G1 toy, damn, the MP is 1 hell of an upgrade. I like how it has similar proportions in robot mode but way more detailed all around yet maintains the same personality but better. It didn’t take the route of trying to make it proportionally taller nor slender and kept the big lower legs.

MS shouki looks SD in train mode and like an elongated turd in robot mode. IMHO MP Shouki pisses all over it.
That would not change even if it was designed by God Himself...

 

MS Shouki is the bad side of being strictly toon. No nuance at all in its design, no flow.

 

My Shouki preorder at BBTS is processing soon   after all of these pics and reviews, I'm excited!

 

I'm hoping these guys pave the way for them to be done in Generations. I like the Trainbots, but not enough to pay MP prices.

 

I get that some people would rather they be bigger, but I’m good with the smaller package considering it comes with so much more character.

I think if someone simply plans to build Raiden and leave it like that, then the Moon Studios set is a good choice. I’m in it for individual robots and their alt forms, though, and in that respect I feel that Takara’s trainbots are superior.

Wow. BBTS must be doing something different or Hasbro USA finally has their crap together when it comes to distributing TakaraTomy product.

 

Pulse backordered Shouki to September 1, so this is most likely BBTS taking another route to acquire stock.
