Any idea when this figure will come out? They said it would be released this month, but there are five more days until July.

That being said, I'd wait (not too long though) if it means better QC, especially when it comes to paint chipping. Magnus is my favourite G1 character, and this looks incredible.

I know XTB gets a bad rap (and after getting Virtus, I was sorely disappointed), but I think all of us are rooting for them. Their Eligos reissue, from what I have seen and heard, was spectacular, so let's pray and hope that this is a good release.

 

Always cute when people think 3rd-party release dates mean anything.   I'm sure XTB will hurry up if they know you're not going to wait much longer.

It’s even worse when you look at the xtb planned release thread and you see that there is about 8-10 figures planned to supposed to be released before this one.

 

Yeah, I haven't had much interest in XTB until this figure, so I didn't realize they were even worse than FansToys at announcing more and more figures without releasing anything.

The XTB page on ShowZ is just pre-order after pre-order for like FIFTY figures, most of which are still just renders: Xtransbots - Show.Z Store

I guess we should count ourselves fortunate that it looks like they're actually planning to release Stack, at least!

 

Toy version in October. No confirmation of toon version yet but I think it's safe to say not this month.

 

That's more ShowZ than XTB, though. As soon as any company gives the vaguest hint of a future release, ShowZ put up a pre-order for it!

 

Na man, that's on XTB. Everyone in 3P considers a render a "reveal" and expects POs.

FT gets flack for having just 10ish renders and unofficial POs; surely XTB deserves a little flack for both having 50+ renders and missing every single expected release in Q1 and Q2 2022. I mean we're maybe 5-10 figures behind for XTB in 2022 alone? Kinda ridiculous af.

 

One could make the argument that 20+ of the preorders are really only 4 figures in limited numbers of repaint. Didn’t they say some of the repaints were only going to be 500 max issued? I don’t know what a normal release number is however for something like stunticons, perceptor, etc.

Sure, that's true. That would also reduce the # of FT backlog if we counted that way. I'm just not sure why XTB gets given extra leniency that no other 3p gets.

XTB / KFC Future Release Thread

I just counted it up and XTB is behind by 22 releases for this year alone. Obviously their scheduled release dates were always unrealistic but come on. Lmao.

 

No doubt they are way behind. I don’t understand the value of listing preorders/upcoming projects a year in advance. Maybe an attempt to appear super productive. But the excitement wanes and what are you left with. That’s one reason why their perceptor did so well. It came out of nowhere and people got pumped regardless of the end product.

 

If at this point you still think 3rd party figure release dates are something to go by, I don't know how to help you.

Yeah I still like MP 22, and I am totally fine with how he looks, but like you I am a big fan of Magnus and want one that poses well. I have several Legends scale 3rd party Magnuses and they blow MP 22 out of the water with articulation and a couple are at least as bulky in design. And yeah, I hope this will have a quality build.

 

Still looking at my Takara release and thinking I might evict him. This one looks good, but need more info before fully pulling the trigger.

It’s Maximus Ambus, from the end of MTMTE/first issue of Lost Light!

 

We so need an MP Ambus - somewhere around MP-57 size, or at least Siege Jetfire. The Iron Factory is nice and all, but so diminutive compared to the rest of my collection.

 

Okay, that's a point in their favour, although I'd rather just have a Milne-style normal MTMTE Magnus head.

(...Or a full MP MTMTE Magnus).

I would work the hell out of it if i was given a chance to check out a prototype, instructions or not.
Its not your copy, so paint chipping would be a good thing, now would be the time to make them happen so they can change tolerances so the final product doesn't
