I think the kiddo will want Skywasp and Ransack, I will be selling Goldbug, and possibly buying another Sandstrom to make this Scorponok into what I was hoping for. 

 

I usually don't buy more than one at a time, but sure.

I'm game for literally all 4 of these (though I do wish It had been the white "Paralyzer" Waspinator/Waruder instead). And you know, I'm a little bummed there isn't a single new/unique accessory among the lot. It wasn't much, but the last one at least had the piddly little all-spark. Oh, and if I can figure out a good way to do so, I'm also thinkin' of adding some blue paint to Goldbug.

 

My purchase of this set depends entirely on whether Hasbro will make the rest of the Throttlebots (from the same mold) and Deluxe Insecticons.

 

There will be no way to know that before this set is sold out and gone.

 

Soundwave would seem to prove that the exclusivity window is t up though.

 

I would kinda be interested for Goldbug alone. Maybe Ransack. Not much for the other two. The problem is, here in Canada this set will be a TRU exclusive, and they will probably charge like a million for it

 

Legacy Siege Soundwave comes out now. If SG Soundwave comes out, it will be later this year or early next. Again, time moves, and limitations expire.



Hasbro/IDW seems pretty confident we're getting the Netflix tooling.

 

Goldbug looks good from what I can tell, & I hope I can get my hands on him; the Throttlebots are a personal favorite of mine, & I've been wanting a Goldbug since I started collecting.

I do have one request of Hasbro: please give us a Glyph & Tap Out 2 pack. I don't want them personally, but this the perfect opportunity to do them, & a lot of people do want them. & then please retire this mold and that blasted bazooka. Thank you!

(Okay, I do have one other request. Give us a Selects red Bumblebee & yellow Cliffjumper, just because. Thanks!)

 

Problem is, it's not the same head. The toy's robot head and the CGI model's head are quite different looking. It would make far more sense to use the pretooled mutant head on this than on Sandstorm, who was depicted in fiction to use the CGI style head.

 

The boxart head is much closer to the CGI model it's such a ridiculous nit to pick.

 

At which point, if they do the secondary price for Goldbug will go through the roof.

 

You may be waiting a long time... I could see 1 new Insecticon mold (plus 1 minor retool) per year over the next 2 years. Just look at how long the SS86 Dinobots ate taking. If you THINK you could want a few characters from this set your best bet is to pounce on it NOW. Keep it in the box if you want, and if they haven't made the rest of the characters you want you can always sell the unopened 4pack for a little profit. Seems a better alternative than paying 3x or 5x the price in the future for passing on it.

 

I've said this before and I'll say it again, the mold is not held up by an exclusivity deal, the specific release they did for Netflix is. They can't take Netflix Soundwave and pop him in Legacy packaging, they can, however, use the ER Netflix mold for different characters whenever they want to.
