Well…I decided to get one. It’s cheaper than a minty vintage Devy, looks better than the Walmart reissue (IMO) and it has a fun Tonka tie-in. I still have my full-size childhood Tonka Scrapper in the basement, lol…. It’s a tetanus shot waiting to happen! Now I can finally give the G1 Devy in my collection back to my brother…I guess…maybe…

It feels like a missed opportunity to use Gobot Guardian names, though, which were branded under Tonka back in the day.

Crane Brain was a Renegade, so he'd be a Decepticon, which was probably against the deal.

I'm in for this. Definitely supporting Hasbro on this. This is exactly the kind of thing Hasbro should be doing for the G1 community. Next up G1 Dinobot reissues?

Takara used Guardian names as Decepticons. Their justification was that they were spys.

I thought about that too but it'd be a rough fit at best.

    Scrapper - ?
    Mixmaster - Blockhead
    Hook - Crain Brain
    Long Haul - Dumper
    Bonecrusher - Dozer
    Scavenger - ?

If this was the Diaclone colors I would have been all over it. Hopefully we'll get those colors from the CW/UW Devastator someday.

Like I said, a rough fit, using a fork lift for an excavator and a pickup truck for a loader. I was thinking Steamer for Scrapper on account of the shapes being similar.

I wish this was the CW version. Those would last longer through play time.

These are definitely not Tonka tough, hell even modern Tonka toys aren't as tough as they used to be. My boys broke some of their Tonka toys from Christmas.

Maybe if they drop in price.

If it’s going to be a Target exclusive, there’s a better than average chance it goes on clearance. I thought about that as I placed my order…will keep my eyes peeled in-store…
