Honestly, I can deal with opposing views. (Speaking for myself) The guy is just an insufferable asshole.
It’s still pretty rude of him to make a joke without explaining how a routine announced update has taken his site out of commission for over 24 hours.
We regular contributors have been discussing it for a while now. Nevermore was citing adequate detail.
I’m just skeptical of unsourced statements for reasons of my own and seeing it in writing from the official tfwiki Twitter helps me out.
It makes no sense to me. If they disagree with something IDW started doing in their comics years ago, why attack fan sites now? All they're doing is hurting other fans, the very people you'd think they'd want to win over to their side. The comics will still exist and still be published.
More than that, IDW 1 is dead, and 2.0 is in the final issues before the license gets pulled. Declare victory already. Folks, these are stories designed to sell plastic toys to children. Get over yourselves if you're this angry over a couple of fictional robots hooking up. For crying out loud, they were largely all but genderless for a long time before the modern era.
I find that Mark Wahlberg movies are more palatable if you reframe them as starring his 80s music Marky Mark persona. Like transformers is Marky Mark and some robots save the world. Then it's a comedy and it sounds more fun.
I don't think it is Russian hackers, but you never know who could be behind it. For all we know, it could be some bored kid in the States, but who knows? All that we do know is that it is a DDoS attack and that it is making things hard for us. -_-
