Cyberverse came out in the fall and the trailer for that was released at SDCC.

Going off the art style, the show was probably aiming for children who had never read the comics.

So nobody is gonna talk about how weird the humans look? Specifically the girl

 

They have to look cartoonish enough to appeal to kids while also looking close enough to a human to be likable.

 

Yeah but something about just feels so uncanny, those eyes stare into my goddamn soul.

 

That's all people talked about when it was revealed. VERY hard to NOT talk about it.

 

She looks like she escaped from the Peanuts universe with that head.

 

Didn't know that , haven't really been looking into the news on it.

 

Yeah, I don't really have any major qualms with the robot designs, but the kids: they're smack dab right in that perfectly uncanny zone where they're neither quite stylized nor quite realistic enough.

 

Understandable. But yeah, the art style is really a divisive topic. Obviously due to it STILL being the only thing we've seen or know about it. Lol

Also Optimus' mask is uncomfortably long vertically...

But also maybe his face is too thin.
Most other Optimus designs have their faces fill in the "helmet" all the way.
Though like all Optimus designs that were new in their time, it took until seeing them in motion to decide whether we like em or not.

 

i dont know if what i am gonna say makes sense but i think the designs just kinda clash with eachother. optimus and bee while they look great imo they look too blocky compared to the new bots that look very round and clean. and then there are the humans and i simply think their faces look a bit too realistic. overall not bad tho

 

I believe that's intentional? Because the new bots are a sub-species or something.

 

They look like cartoon humans to me, the girls head is a bit large, but cartoons typically give humans exaggerated proportions in some capacity

This really happens with every new show (the art style being divisive). I expect it to die down once episodes actually start airing and we get to see more of the designs in motion.

 

I think what's slightly off-putting about the girl is that she looks like she has an adult face. Young kids facial proportions are different.
