Hello everyone,

Allspark.com is reporting that at a science fiction convention, in an interview about the upcoming Star Trek movie, Transformers writer Robert Orci said that the first draft to Transformers 2 was completed. According to the report, he also said that there would be one reference to Star Trek in Transformers 2. Please remember though, Michael Bay did say that he would be spreading false information (I'm not sure whether they would do so at a convention though).

Well, if they can name drop "40-year-old Virgin," they can get away with Star Trek.

Those are great news, but how com if the first draft is just completd we already have a casting list?

 

Hell there was 2 or 3 Trek references in the 1st film so this is cool.

 

I wonder how long it'll take for this script to reach the Internet?

Script access

Well, that's only if someone leaks it or worse - I don't think that TF fans will be able to access this one like they did the script for TF1. I think Bay has tightened up whatever firewalls and other security measures on his computer(s).

 

Kinda old news... we found out a few days ago from Orci on DM.net that Bay had let them out of their imprisonment.

(Which means that they were done the draft)

This IS the first it's been reported here though.

Apparently Bay wants to start shooting in 6 weeks though to stay on schedule. Huh.

It'll leak. Everything does now. It's almost a science.

 

So 4 weeks, maybe 4 and a half.

 

Glad to hear a first draft is done. Now all they need is a final shooting draft before principle photography begins in June, which is not that far away.

 

I estimate script leakage by the weekend.

Yea it will leak at some point, the harder they try to keep stuff secret the harder people are going to dig for it. Plus it's not like they are going to hold back the toys and comic books until after the film is released so if you want to find out there are ways to find out no matter how much Bay or anyone else might want to hide it.

Wouldn't mind getting hold of it myself to find out if it's better than the first script or not. Hope they get to geek out this time and build a bit of Transformers lore rather than stuff about the human cast that wasn't very interesting in the first place.

I have exclusive early word of the Trek reference. From page 42 of the script:

Taxicab Driver: "Why don't you watch where you're going, dumbass?"
Prime: "Well...double dumbass on you!"

You can end the speculation.
 

 

I hope that when the scrip gets out...he doesn't get so pissed that he'll quit the project.

It's from that Trek film with the whales, where they're on earth in the 80's and spock is wearing a dressing gown.

I wouldn't have known either if it wasn't for the fact I watched it last week.
