In my opinion first ver MST UM in bot mode is the best for scale ..

NA UM and MST UM 2.0 they are both big in bot mode, and I don’t like that. In toon UM is not so much bigger than Optimus Prime, and he is shorter than Grimlock in dino mode ( the pictures are not mine ).

Right, though Sunbow was all over the place and we can all find examples of widely varying sizes, I used the term approximate as, to me, Ymir seems to be going for the "feel" like here

All that being said, I personally dont care about size discrepancies so long as they are within a reasonable variant, going from what we have seen I would probably prefer Ymir to be a little smaller but its no big deal.

I wish the yellow chest were less plain. I know it's got the molded detail, but it's all just one piece of yellow plastic; the details don't stand out. I think it would really benefit from a wash to outline the sculpted bits, but I'm not confident enough in my abilities to risk it.

You could use a gray panel lining marker to bring out the details. I prefer grey over black on light colored plastic because it's not as over the top.

It varies, in some photos the yellow look good in others it looks kind of plain. I wish they (while not cartoon accurate) had the window piece on his chest that he normally has (MP, SS86, G1 toy).

The latest video / pics of toon version look much more plain / dull then the promo pics...

I would prefer a darker grey like that used by Fansproject that did the chug scale, which looked pristine eventhough not painted. Maybe some sparkles in it (as they actually had in their original pic of him bending his arm of the prototype) so it doesnt look so cheap plain plastic...

The eyes are not clear enough in bot mode... Wish it was more vibrant and visible.

The yellow looks okayesh on either promo or new pics, eventhough promo is much more rich.
The red looked better on the promo, but okay. Black is okayesh too i guess, but again looked better in promo pics..

Really, i hope they improve on the dark grey and the eyes of the toon at the very least before release...

Damn that TM Megatron is sexy

But maybe it’s a metallic version not homaging anything? If so I would have preferred a black tint for the clear pieces.

My first thought was maybe it's a 1986 movie Grim, but it could also be a Diaclone, tho I think Red Snarl is closer to it.

Though, I would still like to see New Age make more of an attempt at something like FansToys' Chrome/X variant of their Iron Dibots, which I think had a slightly more blue or greenish tint to Grim's metallic parts.

    Or, ya know, G2!

Maybe a toon metallic version? If yes, I think I prefer the current toon version.
Some better images, hoping for a new review from the guy soon:

Agreed, if it is a metallic toon version I would have probably prefer this if the clear bits had more of a black tiny
