One bad bot!

 

Some of my IDW wants are MTMTE Rodimus, Figueroa Earth Prime, Guzzle, Ironfist, Pyro, Scorponok (but that could be a comics/Marvel universe version), RID Earth vehicle Soundwave, Bomber Megatron would be cool, I would say the IDW Dynobots but PX while not the same thing got me covered (probably), Tank Galvatron would be cool, Terminator Arcee if they can do that.
EDIT: Also whenever we get a Deathsaurus I'd love a IDW dragon version.

I don't think expecting his whole team is reasonable. It's like the Donobots, they took a risk there, but they have much wider exposure, the DJD outside of Tarn is almost nothing for exposure and little characterization. Tarn however has the Deception Sigil as his face and was the most characterized and popular of the bunch, if you had only one slot... It's Tarn.

I could see him coming with a Scavengers set, which is full of Nostalgic characters aside of the comic fluff.

 

I wouldn't say the other DJD members were without depth.

Kaon: was a twisted son of a bitch like rest, but he loved The Pet.
Granted, that too was twisted given who/what The Pet actually was, but the fact Kaon was legitimately invested in his safety adds a fascinating layer to their relationship.

Tesarus: moody, sullen, near-always frowning. Team emo. I thought it was adorable whenever he sulked like a teenager. ^^

Helex: big, boastful loudmouthed four armed ox.
Love 'im. I'd cast Robbie Coltrane to voice him.

Vos: probably the hardest to pin down since Roberts saddled him with incomprehensible dialogue, but I get a sense he's obsessed with the past. Why else speak in a dead tongue all the time no matter what?

Nickel: whoa, so much to unpack. Energetic, chatty little sprite with an in your face, take no crap attitude. Watching this adorable, frail looking TV headed wheel hoofed dwarf put a buncha professional monsters in their place was equal parts funny & badass. Also, her being the sole survivor of her culture & embracing the DJD as her new family was so heartbreaking.

 

The DJD are what a 14 year old boy draws in his mathbook while fantasizing about the teacher getting maimed by demons

 

I'm bet they could retool something into Nickel...maybe Saucer Bee and pack in Tarn, Tarn needs a new mold (tank shoulders) the repaint could be Megatron, Turmoil , Reverse Prime or Treadshot

 

I'd definitely be down for a new Arcee (yes, another) based on that design as long as the backpack wasn't egregious and they stuck more of the car kibble in her calves. A Lotus Exige, Evora, or Europa S would work well for her car alt. Do we need yet another Arcee so soon? I'd argue yes, because 1) a new non-TFTM design could further acceptance that fembots need integrated car parts too, and b) the design & tooling costs can be spread out by an easy rehead & redeco (Nightbird) and several retool possibilities just changing up the car model parts.

Or a new mold Nickel could be retooled into some sub Mini-con, maybe even someone like Gobots Dive-Dive or Hornet.

 

The non-Tarn members have about as much characterization as the vast vast majority of Transformers do.

 

You're probably right, but hey I can dream right?

To be fair though, there are a lot of figures I never thought that we would see in Generations that now exist. And unlike the Dinobots, the DJD can get away with being retools.

Ooh, I didn't notice that the little bits on the sides of his shoulders were metallic blue. I'll have to add some paint but I think I'm sold on him now.

 

I feel real dumb for not realizing until now that they changed more than just the head lmao. All I noticed in the original tease picture we got but now vehicle mode comparisons make it so obvious... Kind moved up from skip to consider territory for me.

 

Both SG Blurr and this guy blow the SS86 outta the water.
That's really a shame but also makes me glad I passed on the original.

 

I passed on the original too because I was planning on finding Legends TR Blurr (and Haywire) online, but with this version, I may just need to find Haywire then

 

My SG Blurr will have a regular Blurr to go against.

 

Is this up for pre order anywhere yet?
