I wonder if the MPG line is meant to go with the Seige scale stuff? The trainbots were pretty large in the cartoon and the combined mode looks properly scaled. So if somebody is interested in getting a modern chug scaled Raiden, I feel like this is their best shot.

Is there a spect on Raiden's overall height? The robot modes kindof interest me but I am more interested in it as the combiner.

So, quick lesson about inflation: prices only go one way.

In 5-10 years, your successor will ba making the same complaint about products in 2032 and longing for the prices of 2022...

Being frustrated by inflation is prudent. Being all un a huff and proclaiming that you're not going to make a purchase because of a rise in pricing means that you were likely on the outer edge of their target market. An edge that HasTak finds the loss of acceptable since you weren't their core target customer.

It happens. Sometimes customer get priced out of a market that they can only barely participate in. When pricing foes up and their wages do not, they're forced out of the market; indefinitely or until their wages catch up. But then pricing will not be going down unless there is a drastic reduction in parts count, material quality, and/or engineering (or all of the above.)

That concludes today's remedial economics lesson.

Yeah, these are cool. Hopefully this project leads to a Generations style Raiden in the next few years.

That head's looking a little small for the body, but I'll reserve judgement for the finished product. By the by, have we seen an Amazon link for Yukikaze yet?

Current speculations based on the evidence we have put Raiden at around 30-35 cm.

Ok? I put inflation in my comment it was the first thing I listed, kinda thought I pre-emptively made that point. I didn't think I needed to type up a basic economics lesson to make my point that I think it's nice but a little too much for me on a toy forum.

    Errrrr...

Skyfire = 1 MP, big but simple 2 mode transformation

Trainbots = 6 MPs! Small but each with three modes including licensed train, and they combine

    Strange comparison is strange.

Given this is made to scale with chug combiners, yeah that would have probably worked better.

In case it wasnt obvious yet, I'm gonna remind you all that Raiden is made out of 6 differently sized trains, with Kaen being the smallest out of the lot. They all have to either compress or expand to become equally sized bots, and turn into combiner parts. I dont know why you guys are comparing them to Moon Studios who werent on the same starting platform when they cheated their way out of giving us proper train alt modes.

Yeah but it's not $900 all at once. Unicron was a massive one-off investment.
This is two MPs per year, costing ~$150 at a time

Could it be better? Absolutely. But I think it's disingenuous to imply that it's a $900 all at once.
I've spent more on pizza delivery over the course of a year than I'm spending on these MPs

Genuinely wondering what difference it would make if these were Haslab?

You're saying the official ones are proper, real-life train modes scaled correctly to each other?

Given the precedent Shouki, Getsuei and Yukikaze have set; the answer is yes.

I am guessing his combined mode is going to be able to do things we have not seen any combiner able to pull off.

I am also guessing that anyone who doesn't get on this train now (pun intended) will really regret it if they decide to after Raiden is completely revealed and early releases dry up.

Yes. The Diaclone/G1 figure did the same and he debuted in The Headmasters series, so I guess it's appropriate.

    HO gauge, 1:87 scale.

EDIT: Although all 6 Trainbots will be in the same scale, the 2 Shinkansens will run on tracks with wider gauges (space between the 2 rails on the track). That means other 4 cannot run on the same track as the Shinkansens. We initially speculated in this thread that they would fudge the rail gauges for the other 4 but once Getsuei was revealed, we realized that it wasn't going to be the case.
