The Constructicons are such big characters in Transformers that I'm shocked we don't have any to scale in the current chug line. I guess CW Devastator is a fine chug scale for combined mode but the individual bots are not only completely huge, but even when the knock off shrunk them to the proper size they were still so antiquated, poorly engineered and so poorly painted that they just look jarring next to WFC/SS86 etc.

I will continue to pray for SS86 Devastator with modern engineering.

Man, you guys are nuts! UW Devastator is an excellent mainline combiner. The individual bots are sufficiently G1-faithful and IMO scale nicely with other mainline figures (given they are large construction vehicles). Devastator looks good and holds together about as well as one can expect for a mainline combiner of that size.

Bruticus, on the other hand, needs work. Four of the five individual bots really suffered by being repainted. Onslaught in particular looks terrible. At Brawl was at least original, but he wasn’t a particularly inspired design. But Onslaught … yeesh.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind seeing all of the Prime Wars/Unite Warriors sets re-released with better hands and feet.

But to the vote, I share the sentiments on Devastator. I'm willing to sacrifice size if it meant better individual bots and a bit more stability on the knees and ankles.

I know everyone wants g1 combiners and all that but i kinda want them to do a titan class combiner again just like predaking but not just a g1 combiner but one from cyberverse a titan class Volcanicus with voyager dinobots, the dinobots would look like their show models too.

They're already redoing the one that most needed a redo.

But after Menasor, I'd honestly have to say Devastator. The Titan-class one was a bit too big for my tastes, and suffered from some awkward proportions in every mode. Even the improved TakaraTomy release didn't really salvage it for me. Something where the individual Constructicons feel more "complete", please.

The CW figures just don’t hold up compared to the new WFC/Legacy designs. Most of the CW combiners also needed upgrade kits to just look good and remain stable.

I’m GENUINELY excited for the new Menasor because, regardless of how they’re doing it, it’s a HUGE step up over CW.

And I think Devastator needs the next redo the most. It’s wildly out of scale with any other combiners, the individual bots were pretty terrible, and the combined mode wasn’t so hot, either. Having the knees in the thighs just looked so awkward. Some of the sculpting, like the combiner head and the chest wing, were good, but it wasn’t a great representation of Devy.

I would buy the Defensor you’re proposing. Idk why but I really like Defensor lol.

I hope we get some other stuff first, like Ruination, and the BW era combiners (throwing Landfill and Rail Racer in with that group.)

and I guess if Menasor works out we’re getting Superion? Which is cool. I like Superion. I hope the figures aren’t just “plank in the fetal position and fold the plane bits on top” for a transformation, but g1 aerial bots be g1… *shrug*

I’d personally also like to see them tackle the Energon combiner teams again, even if they just end up being slight remold/retools of the G1 combiners we’re inevitably gonna get.

    THIS!!!!

WHY have we not gotten a new Magnaboss figure. Beast Wars is clearly doing good for Hasbro. Combiners do good. its a figure whose original toy had issues. It... just makes sense!

If it were me (and I know people are going to jump on this but screw it) do it as a Haslab. Make the tiers be transforming weapons that become new members of the team (a sword and a shield and a gun). Put it at around 100 to 150.

I'd be all in for a new Superion. I don't think it can work in the same configuration as Legacy Menasor though, for Superion the limb bots will actually have to be full limbs I think.

oh for sure. I just like plane transformers that dont just have the plane mode hanging off their backs lol, or are just a scrunched up robot under a plane. Iirc CW Silverbolt could legit be separated into Robot and Plane and both worked. It may have been a previous one that was true for and not the CW one though.

I just want them to better incorporate each mode into the other mode. But it’s Legacy which means G1 so, idk if that’ll happen lol.

A new Superion would be cool either way tho. Everyone complains he’s the most boring looking combiner, but to me he has the same “unified color scheme” thing Devastator has going and everyone loves that guy so…. I like him. Bruticus is cool, but most Bruticus figures colors clash so abhorrently to me. G2 not counting since, while the colors clash, they all have that camo pattern to help unify them.

I have never liked the aesthetic of CW Devastator. I eventually came around on the other combiners (the PE and TDW upgrades helped), but I could never get there with Devs. That said, I'd absolutely take a more functional, updated version of the Constructicons to displace TFC's Herc. Getting at least a G2 redeco would be nice too. Given what Hasbro's been doing since Siege, I think they can absolutely crank that out like they appear on the verge of doing with the Stunticons.

You can, but that jet mode is still a faux Concorde with impractical wings, and a tube instead of a nose, and as a fanmode it's still jankier than the originals IMHO.
