I think he's had a new alt mode in every movie.

Definitely agree. I don't need the movies to be a literal toy commercial, but it was interesting that they made designs SO unfriendly to being accurately made in plastic. I actually like a ton of the designs, but you can tell no one held back the designers in the name of making them easier to convert to toy form. Maybe if the movies came out a bit later after the comic book movie boom they would have felt more confident to make more "smoother", more cartoony, and less "alien" designs. Which is somewhat what we saw in some of the Bumblebee designs (but then the triple-changing kinda countered that lol).

I like what they did with the designs too. At first I was like, “that’s not the Transformers I remember. There’s too much going on” then I saw the movie and thought “I love it. It makes sense, and they weren’t built around toys first”
Now Bayverse is my preferred style.

Yep, every modern Camaro is actually different film to film, but it's pretty minor in some cases. Although a part of that is just that Chevy was always updating the Camaro and they would want the movie to advertise their newest/current product even if it didn't make it visibly all that different to non-car nerds. I think the 07 and ROTF modern Camaros were also concept/non-final production models and not precisely the models that you'd eventually be able to buy and drive.

So if you showed me the 07 and ROTF car modes side by side, I could likely see that they have minor differences but I'd be at a loss to tell you which is which.

We also have a somewhat strange issue since SS / MPM started in which the 07 Modern Camaro Bumblebee is actually inaccurate. The 07 Camaro design was a true concept car, debuting in the movie quite a bit before the car actually returned for purchase. The SS / MPM 07 Bumblebee's Camaro mode is inaccurate in that it takes some specific design cues from the actual retail 07/08 Camaro versus the concept car used in the movie, including a more pronounced ground effects underneath the grill and a radio antenna towards the rear of the roof. Maybe it was a mandate from Chevy?

Chevy also requested the more retail accurate yellow for the toy rather than the more orange color of his movie counterpart iirc.

Call me crazy, this shot clearly shows the model of Sideways in the movie has a visor. Which means neither the SS figure or that cg render are accurate

That's just his eyes glowing so bright in the dark that they, in addition to motion blur, illuminate his whole brow. Every piece of art and every model from ILM has two distinct eyes

I’ve heard from the designers that the apparent visor is just motion blur and that he just has four eyes like the CGI model. Personally tho, I agree, it definitely seems like they may have added a last minute visor to his face, kind of like how Screamer’s face changed last minute during the Bumblebee movie. Not sure tho since he is in constant motion during his brief appearance as a robot.

Doesn’t he have four eyes? Two big ones and then two little ones? That’s what I’ve always seen.

Not that I've seen but I never gave more than a second of attention to his eyes. Only recall two eyes

I think his main eyes are just depicted as glowing so brightly that they block out his smaller pair. I’m also noticing that his game and concept renders usually depict him with more glowing red sections than his movie CGI model has.

The difference between the box images and the product image is scary. I really hope the paint is as good on the final product. Especially at the top of the chest.

Is this his actual ILM model? It looks kinda weird. Maybe it's just because you never really get a good look at him in the movie itself, and to be fair there's not exactly much to see anyways: it's Barricade with a new alt-mode.

except for every other difference in the actual details. They have similar proportions, that's really about it. This isn't like Blackout and Grindor or Stinger and AOE Bee, they're noticably different designs with similar cues, like Jazz and the Datsons from G1

Yep that’s the real deal. It was revealed in one of the newer King Samlock posts to coincide with the reveal of his studio series figure. Oh and Sideways and Barricade actually have quite a few differences with each other. They only share a few parts.
