Sorry, I should have been more precise with my words. Hasbro has been known to reuse the same name between their multiple franchises for characters and toys. E.g. Sea Spray (autobot) and Seaspray (earth pony), Beachcomber (autobot) Baby Beachcomber (sea pony) It's been a long time since I watched G.I. Joe, so I don't remember if there is any cross naming between TF and Joe. There might be? Just an interesting tidbit for you.
I think you may replied to the wrong person as my post was sharing the new episodes of the shows, not the one talking about Jazz, which is why i was confused
I hate when that happens. My phone does dumb crap sometimes. I think I'm responding to one post, but sometimes end up responding to a different one
There actually is - Energon Snowcat is designed after the vehicle of the same name from the GI Joe franchise.
I guess we have gotten CalArts style perfected to a level where they can even give ponies beanface.I was not a fan of the serious case of sameface the characters had in the movie, but giving everyone a giant Tick-style chin was not the way to make them look different. So, does this mean the G5 series is not gonna be CGI like the movie? I assumed the movie was so rather middling quality CGI wise because they were gonna reuse all the assets for the show as well. Guess not and it is traditional 2D? EDIT: Ah OK just saw. So these are just shorts like Pony(Thug) Life was for the end of G4? Odd to make 2 series like this. Trotformers did make me chuckle, a bit, though.
Yeah, something to fill the gap between new seasons/specials/movies, especially since the show will be Netflix whichs means everything will drop at once, so this means unlike G4, we aint gonna have episodes weekly with the mainline series, so these shorts will fill that void in where we would've not had pony content if they only focused on the mainline series
It pissesbme off, because Hasbro still knows what a horse looks like, and yet they still give us this cal arts Steven universe/thunder cats roar style.
I don't understand why my girls adore this show - I've tried to watch it with them few times - as for me it is too predictible and trivial. But maybe for 4 y.o it's OK
Just a heads up this short takes place after the events of the new special which is now available on Netflix, so i would recommend watching that first before the short
Make Your Mark was fine. Really it seems to exist just to set up the series so I won't fault it too much. I do like what they did with Zipp though. They really fleshed out her character and I'm interested to see where the show goes with her.
