Excited to grab this guy and round out the diaclone Lambos (even though I was never able to find Red Alert ) + he'll make a good tag team with Cordon. still boggles my mind with the mileage they'll get out of this mold that they didn't figure out a spoiler and give him the 5-hole wheels like the Sunstreaker mold when they did the Kingdom remolding..
I hope it\'s real but the lack of his arms and legs being the correct color convinces me more. Hasbro would cut those corners...lol
Holy mother of pearl, we\'ve got another sideswipe remold. At this point it\'s just fun keeping track and breaking remold records lol.
I don't know how hard it would be to have done his thighs and arms in red.... like all his previous toys.... but it would have gone a long way to making him more visually interesting.
This is obviously going to be a Generation Select release, but still way easier than Walgreen exclusive.
Hooray, more uses of this mold? I’m not gonna pretend that I don’t like the mold but this feels like it’s becoming the next Classics Seeker. I think this is the last possible use of this mold though unless they either a) go back and make Earth and Cybertronian modes for each character or b) start inventing new characters to use this mold on. I wouldn’t put it past Hasbro. They seem to be really proud of this Sideswipe mold. I’ll take one in green.
I'd have worked harder to collect all of the Sideswipes if I'd known they'd eventually have their own Sentai team. The problem with Siege Megs is a handful are basically variants on the G1 color scheme (retail Premium Finish, 35th, Netflix, and you add ER on top of that even as a retool...)
The constancy with the parts colors (thighs and arms, hands and shoulder flap thing), is making me lean towards this being real. And it's alright. It'll serve it's place. If they gave him the red thighs then he'd have red arms as well, which would make him too similar to Red Alert in my opinion. Honestly I would have rather seen him with black thighs and arms, I dunno, just woulda broken up all that white/light grey. I'm cool with him and Deep Cover being slightly different cars, helps make them just a bit unique from each other. Now give us that cancelled G2 Sideswipe from this kingdom mold and we'll all be officially done with Sideswipe redecos!
The tooling for these parts has to be absolutely shitcanned by now. And yet there are still WFC molds that have only been reused once or twice but obvious money makers: Junkion Detritus out of the Hound mold, for one.
If it's real then interesting to see that they finally managed to make the shoulder hinges the correct color. I'll be mildly tempted to get him to swap his black parts for Red Alert's grey ones, I'm still not a fan of those. The black shins with blue vents would've looked great on Red Alert.
